The Long Game of Planning ESP/ENG

Planning is always a great challenge for whoever leads it. At the event I attended where I took these photographs, this girl was the producer. She believes it's possible to bring a way of hanging out to the Venezuelan market that she experienced while in Mexico, where there are events held on Sundays (something rare here) during the daytime, with the closing time at midnight.

Las planificaciones siempre son un gran reto para quien las lleva. En el evento al que asistí, donde tomé estas fotografías, esta chica fue la productora. Ella tiene en mente que es posible traer al mercado venezolano una forma de "hanguear" que experimentó estando en México, donde existen eventos que se realizan los días domingo (cosa que aquí es rara) y en horario diurno, con un cierre a las 12 de la noche.

The idea isn't bad in principle, but what's difficult is making it work. In many cases, movements, markets, and communities don't respond at the start of a project; instead, they progress little by little, gaining ground in the minds of potential consumers. Therefore, the job isn't about bringing a product at a specific moment and drawing conclusions, but about carrying out a long-term strategy to see if it's truly possible or not.

La idea en principio no es mala, pero lo que es difícil es hacerla funcionar. En muchos casos, los movimientos, mercados y comunidades no responden al inicio de los proyectos, sino que van progresando poco a poco y ganando terreno en la mente de sus posibles consumidores. Entonces, el trabajo no consiste en traer un producto en un momento concreto y sacar conclusiones, sino en llevar a cabo una estrategia larga para ver si de verdad es posible o no.

Personally, I lack a lot of that. I always have ideas about things, but I don't follow up on many of them, and I would like to do more follow-up this year on those ideas that tickle my mind and make me want to create.

A mí personalmente me falta mucho de eso. Siempre tengo ideas con respecto a cosas, pero a muchas de ellas no les hago seguimiento, y me gustaría este año hacerles más seguimiento a esas ideas que me cosquillean en la cabeza y que me dan ganas de hacer.

It's not always about getting something today; many times it's about possibly getting something later.

No siempre se trata de obtener algo hoy; muchas veces se trata de, posiblemente, obtener algo después.
