The Evolution of My Photographic Vision ESP/ENG

For me, it has always been important and rewarding to be part of the wedding ceremonies I attend. I am almost always attentive to what is said and done; the vows, for instance, when written by the couple themselves, are beautiful to hear. It is evident when they are committed to the transcendent dimension that marriage holds as a ritual.

Para mí siempre ha sido importante y grato ser parte de las ceremonias de matrimonio en las que participo; casi siempre estoy atento a lo que se dice y hace. Los votos, por ejemplo, cuando los escriben los novios, son bellísimos de escuchar, y se nota cuando están comprometidos con la dimensión trascendente que tiene el matrimonio como ritual.

As I have worked more, I have become more sensitive to this. When I was newer to this field, I sought photos in a much more daring way. Currently, I am still bold in what I want, but I now know how to find the right balance to achieve it and be less conspicuous to others.

A medida que he trabajado más, me he vuelto más sensible ante ello. Cuando era más nuevo en esto, buscaba la foto de una forma mucho más osada; actualmente sigo siendo osado con lo que busco, pero ya sé encontrar la justa medida para obtenerlo y ser menos notorio ante los demás.

When I started in photography, I thought I had to be like a shadow, constantly hidden, but I realized I didn't get the photos I wanted that way. So, I changed my approach to the opposite: being always visible. Consequently, people stop focusing their attention on me and instead concentrate on what is happening or on their own inner worlds.

Cuando empecé en la fotografía, pensaba que tenía que ser como una sombra, oculto constantemente, pero me di cuenta de que no conseguía las fotos que quería de esa forma. Así que cambié mi enfoque a lo contrario: ser siempre visible. De esa manera, las personas dejan de centrar su atención en mí y se concentran en lo que está sucediendo o en sus propios mundos internos.

Truthfully, I don't doubt that other photographers achieve the same or more than I do through discretion, but honestly, this is the path I know and the one with which I feel I get the best results.

La verdad, no dudo que otros fotógrafos logren lo mismo o más de lo que yo hago por la vía de la discreción, pero, sinceramente, esta es la vía que conozco y con la que siento que obtengo mejores resultados.
