Photography: The Necessary Tangible Memory ESP/ENG

Memories are an internal photograph of something we lived in our past. Traveling to the past is impossible; there is no possible way to go back to the past. We can only remember what happened or preserve the image of something we want to remember in the future.

Los recuerdos son fotografía interna de algo que vivimos en nuestro pasado. Viajar al pasado es imposible, no existe forma posible de volver al pasado, solamente podemos recordar aquello que ocurrió o preservar la imagen de algo que queramos recordar en el futuro.

I look at my photos from when I was a teenager, and I find myself quite different. There are aspects that remain, and from what people tell me and what I observe, much is maintained. I haven't aged drastically yet, but I do have several friends for whom the passing of time has not been the same.

Veo mis fotos de cuando era adolescente y me soy bastante diferente. Hay aspectos que se mantienen, y por lo que me dicen y observo, bastante se mantiene. No he envejecido drásticamente aún, pero sí tengo varios amigos a los que no les ha pasado lo mismo con el pasar del tiempo.

It's crazy how Quinceañera photos might initially seem superficial, but for everyone who sees them in the future, they will be that precious moment where a girl begins to gain features of a woman, and it is the point of no return since after that, the body will begin to age very slowly, but it will eventually happen. Photography is a tangible memory and it is a necessary memory.

Es loco cómo unas fotografías de 15 años en un principio pueden parecer superficiales, pero para todos los que las vean en el futuro serán aquel precioso momento donde una niña empieza a ganar rasgos de mujer, y es el punto de no retorno ya que después de ello empezará el cuerpo a envejecer muy lentamente, pero terminará sucediendo. La fotografía es un recuerdo tangible y es un recuerdo necesario.
