A Glimpse into a Muslim Wedding ESP/ENG

I took these photographs in a hotel in Caracas, the city where I live. It was the place where the preparations for this wedding took place. Unlike other weddings I have done—and truth be told, due to the fact that the predominant religion here is different—this couple is Muslim, and there is no issue with the bride and groom seeing each other before the ceremonial ritual.

Estas fotografías las hice en un hotel de Caracas, la ciudad donde vivo. Fue el sitio donde se realizaron los preparativos de esta boda. A diferencia de otras bodas que he hecho—y a decir verdad, esto se debe a que la religión predominante aquí es otra—ellos son musulmanes y no tienen conflicto con el hecho de que el novio y la novia se vean antes del ritual ceremonial.

Before this wedding, I had done another Muslim wedding, and so far, I have only photographed two. Because of this, the ceremonial act is still somewhat unfamiliar to me. In fact, the ceremony for this wedding took place in their mosque, and I was not allowed to take photos inside.

Antes de hacer esta boda, había fotografiado otra boda musulmana, y hasta ahora solo he hecho dos. Debido a esto, el acto ceremonial todavía me resulta un poco desconocido. De hecho, la ceremonia de esta boda fue en su mezquita, y no pude tomar fotos porque no estaba permitido.

One of the things I love most about being a wedding photographer is witnessing different religious ceremonies. Through repetition, I become more empathetic with what I observe and better understand which moments are most suitable for capturing in photos. I hope to photograph more Muslim weddings in the future, as I find them truly fascinating.

De las cosas que más me gustan de ser fotógrafo de bodas es presenciar ceremonias religiosas diferentes. A través de la repetición, puedo ser más empático con lo que observo y comprender mejor qué momentos son más propicios para tomar fotos. Espero hacer más bodas musulmanas en el futuro, ya que me parecen muy interesantes.
