Hola, Hivers:
El miércoles hice algo que, por lo general no suelo hacer: realizar un trabajo en menos de dos días. La tarea consistía en realizar unas diapositivas para el viernes, es decir, hoy. Debido a la premura del trabajo, y los cortes de energía, tuve que trasnocharme para realizar el trabajo en cuestión.

Las consecuencias de todo esto: terminé agotado, trasnochado y con dolor de cabeza; y hasta ahora no me han pagado.

Romper las reglas establecidas no es buena idea, porque te perjudica a ti mismo y a los demás. En este caso particular, no suelo aceptar trabajos que se tengan que entregar de un momento a otro, porque termino como lo describí arriba. Hacer un trabajo de redacción siempre requiere su tiempo, y si se trata de diapositivas,.más todavía. Pero la premura por el dinero hizo que lo aceptara, pues estoy corto de eso. ¿Las consecuencias? No dormir bien, malhumor, y también hacerle pasar malos ratos a mi esposa.

Luego de analizar la situación, aprendí la lección, no importa el dinero si no tienes paz y tranquilidad; y que debo cobrar por adelantado... Jajaja.

Pero no todo es malo. Comencé a leer un libro de cuentos del maestro Ernest Hemingway, y vaya que son demasiado brutales. A Hemingway lo leí cuando era joven, y me atrapó su literatura. Ahora, me siento fascinado por estos cuentos, y eso que solo he leído dos: La breve vida feliz de Francis Macomber, y La capital del mundo.

El primero trata de un matrimonio que se va a un safari en África de cacería, y el segundo narra lo que sucede en un hostal, o posada, en la capital de España, Madrid. Me encanta el ritmo sosegado que usa al inicio y cómo va incrementando a medida que avanza la narración, para luego llevarte al final que te deja sin aliento.

Hemingway hace que empatices con sus personajes, que te agraden o desagraden, y te lleva de la mano, sin tantas vueltas, hacia el final. Hasta ahora me han gustado los que he leído, y espero poder seguirles hablando de mi lectura a medida que avance.

On Wednesday I did something I don't usually do: finish a job in less than two days. The task was to make some slides for Friday, that is, today. Due to the urgency of the work, and the power cuts, I had to stay up all night to do the job in question.

The consequences of all this: I ended up exhausted, up all night and with a headache; and they haven't paid me yet.

Breaking the established rules is not a good idea, because it harms you and others. In this particular case, I don't usually accept jobs that have to be delivered from one moment to the next, because I end up as I described above. Doing a writing job always takes time, and if it's about slides, even more. But the urgency for money made me accept it, because I am short of that. The consequences? Not sleeping well, bad mood, and also making my wife go through bad times.

After analyzing the situation, I learned the lesson, money does not matter if you do not have peace and tranquility; and that I must charge in advance ... Hahahaha.

But not everything is bad. I started reading a book of stories by the master Ernest Hemingway, and they are too brutal. I read Hemingway when I was young, and his literature caught me. Now, I feel fascinated by these stories, and that's only because I've read two: * The short happy life of Francis Macomber *, and * The capital of the world *.

The first is about a married couple who goes on a safari in Africa to hunt, and the second tells what happens in an inn in the capital of Spain, Madrid. I love the slow pace he uses at the beginning and how it increases as the story progresses, to then take you to the end that leaves you breathless.

Hemingway makes you empathize with his characters, whether you like them or not, and takes you by the hand, without so many turns, to the end. So far I have liked the ones I have read, and I hope to be able to continue talking to you about my reading as I progress.
