Recently I was asked if I like to join for a trip to the Azores.
Heard about it. Family friends going there like decades ago.
I never looked into it.
Seeing this post, it is giving me positive triggers to figure out more about Azores, but foremost, say yes to the invite.
What are your recommendations other than this trip up the hill?

They Azores is great. Sao Miguel is the main island and there's the most to do there - hot springs, tea plantations, hikes. You can island hop pretty easily as well. Faial island a very small island so you wouldn't want to stay on that island too long maybe just 2 days.

No problem. There are a lot of different islands to see in the archipelago - depending on how long you plan to visit. We only saw three island over 9 days - Sao Miguel, Sao Jorge, and faial. Sao Jorge was very rustic and remote feeling with not much to do other than hiking. So if hiking isn't your thing then you might want to avoid that island. Pico island might have more to do there, i think its larger. Faial had a decent amount to see that could keep you occupied for 2-3 days. The main city was larger and there was another crater hike that we did. But again Sao Miguel is where you would likely spend most of your time.

Good luck!
