The cast-iron Tower in Löbau/Germany - der gusseiserne Turm in Löbau/Sachsen

This time I would like to show you a rarity in Löbau, which not the only reason to visit Löbau in Saxony:
the King Frederick Augustus Tower, which was made of cast iron in 1854. The technical model for this was the London Crystal Palace. The tower is actually transparent. It is the only cast iron observation tower in Europe. It is 28 m high. Entry fee is 2 euros (coins needed), and you can reach it after an easy 5-minute walk from the nearest parking lot. It's also very close from the city, it takes about 50 minutes to hike - the gradient is easy to manage.
But it is not for people with a fear of heights. Although the bottom of the platform is not transparent, and it feels stable on the top, the stairs inside the tower are transparent. I've heard, some people tolerate that even more difficult...

diesmal möchte ich eine Rarität aus Löbau zeigen, nicht nur deswegen lohnt sich ein Besuch da:
den König-Friedrich-August-Turm, welcher aus Eisenguss 1854 gefertigt wurden. Der technischer Vorbild dazu war der Londoner Kristallpallast. Der Turm ist eigentlich durchsichtig. Der ist der einzige Aussichtsturm aus Gußeisen in Europa. Der ist 28 m hoch. Der Eintritt kostet 2 Euro (Münzen bitte mitnehmen), vom nächsten Parkplatz (keine Gebühr) nach 5 Minuten leichtem Spaziergang erreichbar. Auch aus der Stadt ist ganz nah, ca. 50 min. muss man wandern – die Steigung ist gut zu bewältigen.
Es ist aber nicht für Leute mit Höhenangst. Zwar der Boden des Plattforms ist nicht durchsichtig, und es fühlt sich auch ganz oben stabil an, aber die Treppenstufen in der Turminnere sind durchsichtig. Wie ich gehört habe, das vertragen die Leute noch schwieriger…

Das ist eine versteckte Ecke in Deutschland, ganz nah an Tschechien. Habt ihr über dieses Städtchen, über diese Sehenswürdigkeiten schon mal gehört, gelesen? Ja, bei EMs und WMs wird es vermutlich auch Tipprunden geben, wenn auch nicht unbedingt von mir organisiert (aber das spielt auch keine Rolle).

Greetings @edina76, a beautiful place to visit, the tower has a great design and incredible decorative details, the combination of black and gold color is perfect; what I like the most is the environment and its beautiful landscapes.

The design of this tower is really cool, and what makes it interesting from 1954 until now is that the iron does not rot or collapse. really cool. the view from the top is also very beautiful.
The tower was renovated, of course. I don't know, how it looked like before...
