Ending with light

Welcome to the new year 2026. Many congratulations to all Hivers and especially to lovers of black and white and photography in general. This is my first publication of this year and I hope many more will follow. For this new beginning I bring a series of photographs of details made in the final days of 2025, in the countryside, visiting as usual my mother-in-law. In this area, or rather in almost the whole country already, there are wood or charcoal stoves outside the main house, where by necessity most people must cook for lack of other more normal cooking sources such as gas and electricity.

However, in my mother-in-law's house there was always a wood stove outside the house. It is customary there to cook in this way, especially because the family is large and that was the house where they always gathered on special dates during the year. The point is that I am fascinated by the visuality of this type of cooking and when cooking itself. I really like the way the light hits these shots and the drama it gives them. Bienvenidos a este nuevo año 2026. Muchas felicidades a todos los Hivers y especialmente a los amantes del blanco y negro y la fotografía en general. Es mi primera publicación de este año y espero la sigan muchas más. Para este nuevo comienzo traigo una serie de fotografías de detalles hechas en los días finales de 2025, en el campo, visitando como es costumbre a mi suegra. En esta zona, o mejor dicho en casi el país entero ya, existen las cocinas de leña o carbón fuera de la casa principal, dónde por necesidad debe cocinar la mayoría de la gente a falta de otras fuentes de cocción más normales como el gas y la electricidad. Sin embargo en casa de.mi suegra siempre existió una cocina de leña fuera de la casa. Es costumbre allí cocinar de esta forma, sobre todo porque la familia es numerosa y esa era la casa donde siempre se reunían en fechas señaladas durante el año. La cuestión es que me fascina la visualidad de este tipo de cocina y cuando se cocina en sí. Me gusta mucho la forma en que incide la luz en estas tomas y el dramatismo que les otorga.
