BAY SMELL || Monomad

Hello friends of black and white and photography in general. Today I want to share with you, and by the way make my entry to the daily challenge #monomad, some shots that bring back fond memories of my few trips to Havana in my childhood.

It's about the bay of the capital. I remember that when my parents used to bring my brother and me to this city, the first thing I noticed when I approached the Habana Vieja municipality, the one next to the bay, was the smell of crude oil, of burnt fuel, a smell very different from that of the countryside. The first thing I would say was: we are close to the bay! That smell brings back very good memories of happy times, of walks with the family, of going through life without many worries. Very good times!

Today I no longer have that feeling, I do not usually perceive that particular smell, it may be because I already have it impregnated or because they have cleaned up the bay, I could not say. For now, I hope you like this photographic proposal of various views of the bay of Havana. See you!

Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes, y de paso hacer mi entrada al reto diario #monomad, algunas tomas que me traen gratos recuerdos de mis pocos viajes a La Habana en mi infancia. Se trata de la bahía de la capital. Recuerdo que cuando mis padres nos traían a mis hermanos y a mi a esta ciudad, lo primero que percibía al acercarme al municipio Habana Vieja, el contiguo a la bahía, era el olor a petróleo crudo, a combustible quemado, un olor muy diferente al del campo. Lo primero que decía era: ¡estamos cerca de la bahía! Ese olor me trae muy buenos recuerdos de tiempos felices, de paseos en familia, de andar por la vida sin muchas preocupaciones. ¡Muy buenos tiempos! Hoy día ya no tengo esa sensación, no suelo percibir ese particular olor, será porque ya lo llevo impregnado o porque han saneado la bahía, no sabría decirlo.
