That's how it started one Saturday when I left home some time ago. I was about to do my usual weekly shopping. The car noise forced me to change my plans and I went to the mechanic to make an appointment or try to fix the problem.

Changing plans that day was worth it because I had an almost close encounter.
The mechanic booked me an appointment for Monday because he already had a busy day. Suddenly I notice something running very fast over the trees. His workshop is in the backyard of his house, it is a very large area surrounded by leafy trees.

What was that? I ask him. He tells me that in his yard live several squirrels that, according to the neighbors, escaped from the National Zoo a few years ago. I couldn't believe it, to see a squirrel here in the middle of the city is very rare, unless it's in the Zoo.
I ask him for permission to photograph them, even though I didn't have my camera with me. He says yes and I hurry back to my house to get the equipment.
Once in the backyard, the adventure begins. Photographing squirrels is a difficult task, they are very elusive. As soon as they notice your presence they get lost in the branches. It was a 2 hour chase, I had to find the right moment and the right frame where I could at least see something.

Ah, first I had to make friends with the dog in the yard because he wouldn't let me move. Well, in the end I left that day with some not so good pictures, a new friend and without the purchase of the week!😳
