Oman, Sultan Quabos Moschee

I was going through my holiday photos again and came across our Oman holiday.
To be precise, we were in Muscat, the capital of Oman. There is a large Sultan Quabus mosque that we visited.
Even though it was 50 degrees in the shade that day, long trousers are a must, even for men.
The mosque is not quite in the centre of Muscat, but not far away either.
In the mosque itself, of course, you were not allowed to wear shoes. Obviously, I had forgotten to put them back on.
I have the impression that all magnificent religious buildings need a dome. Here, too, there is a huge dome in the middle with a candelabra. I remember standing under it and it seemed so huge. It doesn't come across that way in the pictures.
This is the room to pray. As a tourist, you were only allowed to walk on the segregated paths.
At that time I was really jealous of the Dishdasha, the cloak the men wear there. In the heat there, 50 degrees, it's probably much more comfortable than my long trousers. But unfortunately it doesn't really suit me.
This is the place where you have to clean your feet before entering the mosque.
Thanks for watching.

A very nice mosque, every corner of the beauty of the mosque makes me comfortable and want to pray there
I'm not a religious person, but this is certainly a nice place for it. Everyone felt very welcome in the mosque and it was very peaceful. In general, Oman was one of the most peaceful countries I have ever visited.
I hope we are always happy brother
Oh wow - what an incredible place ! The architecture is just stunning !
