Monomad - Black and White Portraits of Homes Affected by Flash Floods

Hello everyone, friends of the Black and White Community, this is the second part of my story about the impact of flash floods. However, this one is certainly different from the first because this time I'm taking a closer look at the conditions at the flood site and the condition of the buildings and homes affected.

This post of mine is for the daily #monomad contest hosted and curated by @monochromes

After some time or after the disaster, I had the opportunity to see directly several locations that were flooded. At that time, I was traveling by car and of course, there were many places that I could not reach because the road access was not yet open at that time. Now, of course, many road accesses are passable.

Unlike the one on the roadside, here we can see firsthand, or up close, the condition of the affected homes.

From this image, we can imagine the height of the water during the flood. Even from the houses that weren't swept away, we can see the depth of the mud deposited by the flood.

Some houses only have their roofs left, while others are covered in mud. I took this close-up photo, and of course, I shudder to imagine what it was like during the flood.

This is a tower used to place a water tower, only the top part of the tower is visible above ground level and the rest has been covered by mud deposits.

With the condition of the houses like this, hopefully the residents were able to escape, as I've heard from several residents that the floodwaters that hit their villages moved quickly and unexpectedly.

In several locations, the water also carried trash and logs, damaging various buildings in its path.

I know that floods can happen anytime and anywhere, but here I understand more about the meaning of protecting the environment and also protecting forests.

However, whatever the cause of this disaster, it is our responsibility to protect the forest to prevent unwanted consequences.

Thank you to everyone who attended. See you again.
