A Visit To The Sculpture Garden

Note: The sculpture Garden is a public garden, It has no restriction for its content.

A few years ago after my NYSC(National Youth service corp). I traveled to zaria to see a friend who lived outside the ABU school gate. One place I loved in the school environment is the sculpture garden. In it are works of brilliant and creative students who use whatever resources they can find to carve out images. The garden is mostly visited by students and people who love art work, and I wanted to see a few of them.

Just a few of the art works were added from the last time I was there in 2015, and it was great seeing new sculptures. The major difference was that students used metals to carve their desired images compared to 2015 where most images were carved from stones. To me it portrayed growth- The ability to use whatever is available to still get the desired results.

One thing I love about art work, especially sculpture , is that it makes me appreciate the intelligence of humans. Look at the beautiful images carved from stones, woods and metals and you'll be amazed by what humans can do.

I walked around taking a lot of pictures on that day. They were pictures I wanted to keep, pictures I wanted to fall back to and appreciate every single one of them. They all served as a throwback of a beauty I once saw, the handiwork of men, and the grace of people with gifted hands. I hope you'll enjoy the pictures as much as I do, as you scroll through the few posted here.

All images were captured by me
