Wednesday Walk: memories from park to park
Hello walkers and friends!
Another walk, another route, another landscape and another panorama. Another relaxing moment where we can escape, relax and let ourselves go… and also let those who want to walk with us virtually. That's why in this community #WednesdayWalk hosted by @tattoodjay we share different walks, routes and paths everywhere.
Park 1: Turia Garden (Jardín del Turia)
And this place is a very common and familiar place, nothing surprising, but we always discover some detail in known spaces if we know how to observe. We start with the quintessential green lung in a large Spanish city, in what was formerly the bed of the Turia river. Do you already know which city it is? The river still exists but its course was diverted outside the urban area to avoid more tragic floods as happened many years ago...
Now it is a huge park, long and very green. Many trees through which we can feel like we are in a forest in the middle of the city, where people come to breathe, to walk, to run, to talk with friends, to have fun with friends, to enjoy a picnic and more. And along the way we discovered many different things, and in the past I shared much more about this area, but it seems that it always remains.
In addition to different trees, even a type of baobabs so it seems that they stand out among the usual palm trees that are always seen in Mediterranean cities like this one (another clue).
We feel at home, because it is home, and when we were little we used to play in that big children's park in the shape of Gulliver (yes, inspired by the character from Jonathan Swift's Gulliver's Travels) and perhaps we felt like children.
We distract ourselves with birds that calmly roam freely, it is also their home. We try to take photos of them, can you see that one on the top of the tree? But it is not always easy, there are many but it moves fast. It's fun.
Park 2: Royal Gardens or The Nurseries (Jardines del Real o Los Viveros).
And we left to go to another nearby park, from park to park, a quiet, green walk under the trees. Practically opposite, just across the avenue is a stately park called “Los Jardines del Real" but we all call it "Los Viveros" as always. And I say always because it is a place that I remember forever, since I can remember.
But it was not the same, for example those 15th century ruins of a palace with a tower belonging to a queen of the Crown of Aragon appear there, at least I did not remember it. There is a lot of history of kings in this area until very recently. Do you see? We always look at something different that makes each ride something unique at each moment.
We let ourselves go among so much vegetation and that calm, a rest for our lungs, ears and eyes. We rest and do not get tired of seeing more things, of continuing to walk. And a park within a park, more like a neoclassical garden, well trimmed, with symmetrical hedges and elegant statues, suddenly it's like going to another era, all this on the same route.
And finally, we end as we started, remembering our childhood, in a place we remember. I stare straight ahead at a small building, which seems old, even empty or abandoned, also inside the park, it's not relevant, nobody pays attention. I do.
It was kind of a school. There I did my two years of preschool, before starting compulsory education at the age of 6. (Yes, in a booth inside a park, because the enclosure for younger children was there temporarily until the school built another building within the school grounds). So in a way I was privileged.
Flashes and memories of free breaks in the park, and passing under trees, almost like on this walk now...
Thanks for reading! Have an inspiring and nice day.
Happy Wednesday!

Reminds me of that time when Rainbow Eucalyptus trees had just popped into existence, as a so-called 'mandela effect'. Quite a significant mandela effect. It must have been 2017. I had been living in Málaga for a while before, and I went back there for a 10-day vacation, expecting to see at least one of those trees standing there, because that's the place where they would grow. So, I walked up and down el Paseo del Parque, in Málaga. There's no Rainbow Eucalyptus tree there, none.
So I went to the tourist information office, which is located there. I spoke to one of their staff. I explained to him, about those trees, pity they don't have one... bla bla. Of course he did not believe me, but he looked it up on a PC, with google I guess. The face he made when he saw those trees exist for real, priceless. Just for a moment, his eyes got big, his mouth fell open, but just for an instance.
So, I just said it would be nice if they would grow a couple of those trees, plant them in some nice places, and I asked him to pass it on to the proper authorities please. 😎
Oh nice memory, yours was real... but I don't feel surprise because stupid governments are cutting trees in the cities, they need to create a fake perception of more heat, because only here it's not raining and it's hot while in Europe not but even in Portugal or Morocco is raining. Also in Valencia capital city I saw in my old street many trees cut so sad... They want to transform this lovely country in a nightmare.
5G does not radiate through trees. That 's why they're cutting them down.
It's for their totalitarian AI control network.
Ah true, also that of course.
Yay! 🤗

What beautiful parks, especially the first one I really like the wooded area. And how great that they bring back childhood memories to you, it must be a pleasure for you to walk through them. Happy Wednesday 🤗🌱
Thanks a lot! Well the first is huge, you can walk inside the old river, and there are different complex too, even La Ciudad de las Ciencias y de las Artes is inside too, but almost in the end...
The second one is a closed park and I didn't show much.
Both are the parks of my childhood and still time to time I go (more to the first) 😉💚
What beautiful parks!
Yes how lucky were you for 2 years to be in your preschool in that building :)
Thanks! Yeah it was a temporary solution but I enjoyed because we were in a big green park! 🤗 Happy day my friend!
