Lisbon from above, views from viewpoints
Hello photo lovers!
I recently shared a couple of posts about the Portuguese capital, Lisbon. A different, special city with a lot of personality. Cobbled streets full of history, lots of art, the Tagus River, the Atlantic air and wonderful views.
A city that can be seen from different perspectives, from below and from above. For various reasons, because there are many ups and downs, inclines and slopes, due to the city's hills, and for this reason there are also perfect places for viewpoints, open public places, parks and terraces that become an improvised stage from which contemplate almost the entire city, at least all the most emblematic part.
For example, the "Portas do Sol" (Gates of the sun) viewpoint very close to the cathedral of San Antonio itself where the Saint is buried. There are very popular terraces there when the weather is good where you can have a drink under the warm Lisbon sun and cool off looking towards the end of the Tagus river, there where the city ends or where it began...
And beyond there is more. More places that overlap, full of people and more views, the city becomes endless in sight. We see the cathedral, and more places that we will want to visit later.
But one that is essential is not that big, because it is a nineteenth-century iron elevator, the "Elevador de Santa Justa" (St. Justa Elevator) which is in the very historic center of the city, the busiest area.
It is a vintage elevator that takes us to a privileged place from which to enjoy the city at 360 degrees. And since we see the characteristic houses, the arch of the Plaza de Comercio, the Plaza del Rossío we can look at any direction, and we see more and more...
And we look down, we look at the classic architecture of the nearby buildings and at their windows and terraces, will we see anyone from there? We play with perspectives and get lost with panoramic views.
And actually there are more, there are other viewpoints in the city, more views. Many popular, tourist and others more hidden and forgotten. And others simply aren't even viewpoints but there are also good views like at the Museum of Ancient Art ("Museu d'Arte Antiga").
From there a different area, in the most industrial area, near the April 25 bridge and under the clouds that cross from one side to the other of the mouth of the Tagus.
We realize how special and amazing Lisbon is, a city that we enjoy at every step, at each photo, at each height, at each view, even from above.
Thanks for reading! Have a nice and amazing day.

Love the way how the roof tops of Lisbon looks; you did great job capturing these photos.
Thank you! When places are nice and inspiring it's easy to take photos!
Feliz viernes Nina!

Between; did you hire a helicopter to get the view top view please tell me how you got access to view top from such different angels help.
Jaja no no, not a helicopter but that could be very cool. Just the viewpoints, there many hills in the city, some streets are really quite vertical... and as I mentioned there is a nineteen century elevator, like Eiffel tower but smaller for sure, it's for tourism. I had one ticket to go up and there, the nice views!
Wow, thanks for showing me the methods you used.
This city motivates me to love life, it is beautiful, bright and colorful, I love it. I hope to visit Lisbon one day...
I think it's very pleasant to be there, enjoying some time, a short visit in spring or summer time, because it has also a nostalgic and sad atmosphere at the same time but maybe if people go just for few days don't realize about this. But those moments were really nice.
