Pančevo and Tamiš on a beautiful spring day
A beautiful, sunny spring day this Wednesday, and I'm on my way to Pančevo, a small lowland town near Belgrade.
The business obligations were intense, but short-lived, so after I was done with them, I was able to enjoy most of the day on a walk, which I will share with you in #wednesdaywalk.
Pančevo is a little more than 20 kilometers away from Belgrade, but given that the road has wide lanes, you can get there quickly, without crowds.

I parked my car and walked to the company's office, which is located very close to the central city square.

After finishing work, I got into walking mode and enjoying the warm weather.
I knew what was coming, a slightly longer circuit around Pančevo.

The central city square and park continues to the wide streets of the pedestrian zone where there are a large number of restaurants and cafes.

I am not particularly attracted to those cafes in the center.
I prefer to go to Tamiš, the river that passes through Pančevo, and drink coffee in one of the cafes outside the city crowd.
My first choice is always Cafe Voz, which is located near the old railway station and the famous Pančevo windmill.

It's just that there are rarely free seats in the train on the sunny side facing the river.

When there is no space there, I go down to the banks of the Tamiš and go upstream or downstream, depending on how the sun hits my eyes 🙂
I decided to walk to the bridge over the Tamiš and sit on one of the benches in the park.

On the way, I walked along the path next to the anchored boats, took photos of cheerful ducks, people who, like me, were enjoying the warm rays of the sun.

I passed by several garden restaurants on the coast, I slightly disturbed a man who was painting his boat, and at the end of the road, I also passed by the famous restaurant of a domestic film (Balkan Express).

In the water under the bridge, one sunken boat caught my attention, as well as three people who were preparing for a photo session.

I say, people enjoy and have various ideas when it's a nice, sunny day.
After a break in the walk, I headed past the walls of the old, dilapidated, abandoned Weifert brewery

along the cobbled streets towards the central town square, passing the gymnasium square next to the building of the "Uros Predić" gymnasium (a famous painter) and the church of St. Charles Borromeo.

An interesting thing about this high school is that its teacher was a famous Serbian scientist, Mihajlo Pupin, while Miloš Crnjanski taught literature as a professor in this high school.

Satisfied with the sudden walk, I headed to the car and back to Belgrade.

Pancevo looks really like a lovely place ❤️❤️ love the decorations you photographed and the sculptures but also the streets!!!
Pančevo is a town across the river in which the influence of the Austro-Hungarian rule is visible, due to certain buildings in the central streets that resemble some Austrian or Hungarian.
If you, who are from Tuscany and have beautiful Italian cities nearby, like Pančevo, I completely agree 🙂
