Down the slope to the beautiful beach Drobni pjesak

Wanting to feel some different #summervibes, one afternoon we headed from Petrovac to Budva, a city on the coast of Montenegro, which is considered the center of events and which "promises" the best time for young people.

I remember my earlier tours of Budva. Then the fun in that city was guaranteed. Hordes of young people flocked to it from all places on the coast, to the best clubs and discotheques, to the most beautiful promenade by the coast, to the most interesting old town and next to the most luxurious marina of Montenegro.

Nightlife is not what I need and look for, I have walked along the promenades of some much more luxurious or beautiful beaches and seen much more luxurious marinas...

I don't know if it's because I'm not so young anymore and because I have some different priorities, Budva didn't make any impression on me this time and I didn't feel a single summer vibe, except maybe the moment I entered behind the walls of the old town.

The heat radiating from the sun-warmed stone walls suggested that summer feeling, and the unchanged appearance of the old town reminded me of Budva 25 and 30 years ago.

Today, Budva is no longer a coastal city where I would go on my summer vacation, because of the tall buildings, hotels and office buildings, it reminds me more of a business part of the metropolis, than a place by the sea...

Disappointed in Budva, we headed back to Petrovac, along the Adriatic highway.
Somewhere halfway, a road sign for Drobni pjesak beach caught my attention.

Several times I heard the guests of the hotel where I was staying mention it, but I didn't have the opportunity to visit it, and I didn't even know anything about that beach until that day.

We decided to visit that beach next morning.
Some people, who have already visited the beach, mentioned that the access to it is a bit complicated due to the steep approach, however, if you come by car, right in front of the beach (with a really steep slope and challenging passing of other road users), there is a spacious and nicely arranged parking lot where you can park your car for 1.5e per hour.

We didn't want to drive down to the lower levels of the parking lot, closer to the beach, because the steepness increased with each meter (and at the same time, parking was more and more expensive - instead of 1.5e, in the next zone, the price was 2.5e/h, so that in the parking lot closest to the beach, parking would cost 3e/h.)
Double the difference in 5 minutes walk to the beach, "No, thanks!".

The beach can be reached either on the street, through those parking lots, or by a narrow, steep path, through the thick shade of the forest above the beach.

And the beach, worth every moment of effort to reach it.
Drobni pjesak (Fine sand)
The beach in a hidden cove is just over 250m long, surrounded by greenery and olive groves, and is considered one of the most beautiful and hidden corners on that part of the coast.

It is specific for its fine, yellowish sand and pebbles, which gives the water a beautiful, turquoise and incredibly clean color.

Due to the open sea, the water here is a shade cooler and cleaner than in the city's bays (especially near Budva).

On the beach itself, there are several springs of pure fresh water, which is another of its specificities. I found one of them and followed it upstream, past a restaurant and a parking lot, in the forest itself.

This beach has become very popular in recent years (thanks to posts like mine 😀 which attract tourists from all over the world).

There is a restaurant on it as well as a beach bar with sunbeds "Pura Vida" and if you are in the mood to spend more than 50e per person, you can treat yourself to beds with thick linen and canopies.

Despite more tourists than in previous years, this beach still offers much more peace and privacy compared to the large, crowded city beaches in Budva or Petrovac.

I walked along the entire beach several times, reached the very end of it, just below the high rocks and from the artificial jetty, took some nice photos of the entire beach.

I did not jump from this jetty into the water, but I believe that it is a favorite activity of some younger visitors, which at this moment, when I was on the beach, there were not yet.

Along with the beautiful photos that I share here with you, I believe that I will convey to you a part of those summer vibes that I felt while enjoying my stay on this beautiful beach, which I proudly present to the #worldmappin community.

As a souvenir, from the beach Drobni pijesak, we took a few pebbles (which would surely be liked by a Hive girl who likes to draw on them), but 🤫!
