Back in Stowe, Vermont for the Last of Summer

IMG_7682.jpegI'm back in Stowe, Vermont with my camera in hand. This was a photo of the newly refurbished Stowe Community Church chapel, in the early morning blue light.

Summer in Alaska has been pretty amazing. There was even a quick trip to Norway and Sweden this summer as well. But now its time to soak the last of summer up in the lakes and mountains of Vermont, with three of the coolest kids I know. Sometimes folks forget about all the beauty that is right in their backyard. I am determined to grab my camera and not miss any of it.

This past week was spent walking around my town of Stowe, Vermont, enjoying the summertime vibes and mountainous surroundings. There were waterfalls, sunsets, blue hour shoots downtown, and wildflowers galore. The chances for photography are all around. Summer is a great time to be here. Stowe is known for its winter skiing, but summer bike riding and hiking into the Green Mountains is a can't miss. Plus a day trip to Lake Champlain is a wonderful addition.

Take a look at some of the adventure around town and see for yourself.

Me and the kids high atop the lookout tower, overlooking Lake Champlain. This is how you spend Vermont summers! And what a place to watch the sunset from.

This beautiful boardwalk allows easy access into the Barnes Camp wetlands near the entrance to Smuggler Notch, above the town of Stowe, Vermont.

My mom, going to check out one of the many old timey wooden covered bridges in Vermont.

I climbed down to the river to get this low angle perspective of the covered bridge.

To find this view, you have to climb the sunset rock trail, off to the edge of downtown Stowe. The trees have been closing this view in over the last few years, but its still worth it.

The pond looks like a mirror, the reflection of the mountains is so beautiful, and a landscape with such magical details cannot be overlooked.

I’ve been trying to get up to VT in the fall to see all the beautiful foliage up there. Sure, we have trees in NJ, but nothing like you have! Maybe this year!

I think in another three weeks the leaves might start changing. We never really know how its going to be, but when it goes off there is no better place for Fall foliage
