They blocked/closed 'my' main access road for a gibberish celebration. Almost nobody really cares, but the entire 'council apparatus' has to show up and show off so the plebes can see them and hopefully put the voting stamp on their name in the upcoming elections. Right there is a monument dedicated to people who died in the first WW, and this repetitive spectacle happens with every possible occasion, maybe more than 3-4 times a year.
