Yashica Mat(isse) In the Wild
Artsy fartsy. That's one way my kids would describe me. I'm so artsy fartsy that I wished to spend my birthday at the Baltimore Museum of Art.
Hoping to capture Matisse paintings in the wild, I took along my Yashica Mat loaded up with Kodak Gold 200.
The lighting in the museum left something to be desired. Fortunately, I have a light meter app. Unfortunately, my light meter app is kinda crap and told me every exposure had to be a bit longer than necessary. So while the colors came out, every single shot was blurry....
I might have prevented this with a tripod, but those are not allowed in the museum.
Somehow, despite the camera having double exposure prevention, I managed to get this gem:
I like it.
The only painting I shot that was not a Matisse was this painting called "Mood Ring" by Sasha Gordon. It's hard to see here but all of those splotches of green and blue are iridescent. It was so well done it had to get the honor of a picture.
Another victim of a crappy light meter is this shot of the lion statue in front of the museum. I wish it had come out because I loved the color of the sky behind it.
Oh well, guess I'll just have to go back next birthday...

The double exposure is kinda... genius, I love it :)
I think here issues (if any at all) come from the low light sensitivity of that particular film. Indoors with 200 ISO and no tripod is bold :)
