Gazelle Family Photos Part 5

Several months ago I was inspired by @darth-azrael to buy old photo slides and scan them for posterity. If you like this kind of thing I highly recommend his posts. The first collection slides I purchased came from Miss Kathryn Gazelle of Washington DC. They range in date from 1948ish to 1963. I'm going to post them roughly by date and subject and give some background on what I have learned about the Gazelle family.

These are a set of Kodachrome slides taken in 1949.

Since I don't know the exact identities I can only guess the siblings. My guess is that this is Walter, the oldest of the brothers.

And this is Stanley, the younger brother, and the last of the siblings to pass away on April 18, 2024. I believe this collection came from his estate.

An interesting double exposure of their father Joseph and perhaps the back of Stanley. It makes me curious what kind of camera they used, double exposure prevention was fairly new on cameras so this must have been a less expensive model.

Double exposed brothers.

Walter looking dapper:

I have tried to identify exactly where this was taken to no avail. It could be Davis, Coketon, or Thomas West Virginia. There is a building similar to the one in the left of the image halfway between Thomas and Coketon, but they don't exactly look the same.

Somewhere around Davis:

Stanley and Mary, I do know Mary since she was the mother and the oldest woman to appear in the photos. It's not lost on me that a Catholic couple is named Mary and Joseph!

Stanley and my guess is Kathryn, the owner of the camera or at least the one paying for the development:

Davis?
