Market Friday: Lovin' and Leavin' London! (final part!)

avatar

When we last parted, it was 4pm on a beautiful London day! The sun was just getting lower on the horizon and basking everything in that special glow! We made our way for the Tower of London, and the beautiful Tower Bridge!

The sky just kept becoming more and more remarkable! I love when the sun bursts through the clouds like this! It makes for the BEST pictures! Here we are approaching the Tower Bridge and walking alongside the Tower of London!

Right beside the Tower of London, you can see just how ornate and beautiful it is. To me, it just looks like yet another gorgeous castle of England! hehe

And now - you can see the back of it as we say goodbye and cross to the Tower Bridge!

We got several pictures on the Bridge, but - they didn't really capture the whole feel. It was hard to do that - so... this one will just have to do with it behind us!

Next, it was time to head over to the Prime Meridian! We were really intent on getting all over London in one day! well - as much as we could! hehehe So it was necessary for us to take the train again! and I just loved chatting with my friends or catching them mid-conversation and simply enjoying the day! hehe

Here we are at the Royal Observatory and overlooking Greenwich park with London in the background. That is a TREE behind my head! not a tuft of stray frizzy hairs! hahahahahahaha

Here Sam and I are posing beside the Shepherd Gate Clock. And you know, we probably would have found out why it was called the Shepherd Gate Clock but - in order to go inside, you needed to pay for admission. hehe And all I really wanted to do was stand on the meridian line! (cuz I was hungry and getting pretty near done walking.. we had walked all day!! hahaha) So - we grabbed a picture, and looked through the gates and said. "Oh look - its the Prime Meridian" LOLOL and then headed out to dinner!!!

A cool shot of the Shepherd Gate clock again. Ok, as I typed that, I was overtaken by curiosity! I just googled why it was called that! And nope - it has nothing to do with sheep! The man who installed the first electric clock system? His last name was Shepherd! go figure! hahaha

After dinner, we took the train again - and then walked a bit until we got to the theatre! Know what I love most about this picture? I didn't even notice it when I snapped the shot, but when I uploaded I saw that the reflective line on Pen's bag picked up all the green lighting everywhere! hahahaha He was ready for WICKED!!!

The sign says "Defying Gravity" since 2006! heheh This was my SEVENTH time seeing this play! LOL I guess you can say I'm a huge fan! You would be correct! I've seen it multiple times in LA, once in Central Cali - and now in London! I have to say, the American actresses definitely play up the parts a bit more. In London, they seemed more reserved, and rushed through the jokes a bit more. But did I mind so much? Nope! Because I had been waiting for Sam to see this for a while!! and now she was treating ME to see it with her! So, I soaked it up, with my two friends by my side! hehe

If those two characters don't look familiar, they are the Wicked Witch of the West, and Glinda the Good. This play is the "back story" of how the Wizard of Oz came to be! I love it because it flips everything you thought you knew about that story and makes it so relevant!!! If you haven't ever seen it, I highly recommend!!

They are ready- but I AM GIDDY with excitement!!! I really could not WAIT for this play to begin!!! hehehe This theater was shaped really cool also - it was angled so that everyone seemed to be in a great place to see the show! That was great for visuals, but it did hamper the audio a bit. There were times when we all thought the sound was muffled, and a bit unclear - I wonder if that had to do with the shape and acoustics. But fun? exciting? happy? yes yes and yes!

By the time we got out of the theatre and made our way to the train - we had just missed the last frequent train and needed to so wait about an hour for the next one. It was late, so the stores were all closed, except for a little mini-supermarket! We headed over there, and got some stuff for a midnight picnic! hahaha Our train was there, just sitting and waiting to take off for its next destination with a load of passengers - so we got on, picked seats with a table, and then ate!

About 10 minutes later, an older couple came on and started chatting with us! They were so fun! They asked us where we were from and what we were doing! (Obviously with our accents, they knew we were from all over! hehe) When we told them about @DreemPort and #Hive, they said it sounded like we had very adventurous lives! hahaha (we agreed!) They asked a bit about crypto and blogging - hehehe It would be so fun someday if they found their way here and reminded us where we met them!!! Maybe one day!

This concludes our day of London! hehehe More days coming up - but in other parts of UK! hehehe Thanks for sticking through the whole thing!!! Join me next week to see where we end up next! ❤️

And that’s awesome to spread such a fun packed day in 3 posts. It needed too hahaha 🤣

It so helps she lives there and does know where to go and what to see. Awesome to have such a “private” tour guide. 😊

Aaawww that would be awesome 😎 I’m in for that!

Or Scotland, but you need to be quick as we will have to move out before the summer 😔
Maybe the next country… I am researching where we go and what our next steps are.
I let you know.

I love Scotland too, it’s soooooo beautiful. So much to see here and the highlands have raw nature I haven’t seen before. How can one not love it up here.
😎

oh Stylish... exactly what you said??? that's exactly how we felt.

it was so hard to describe and I don't think even as a writer I coudl describe it well enough... it something that just makes me long for more. forever.

"happy" was happier with them.

and I want more of it - with more people. and i don't want any restrictions on time or money or fullness of the moments! i want it all hehehe

yes - memories... they are still very much alive for me. I look at some of the pictures and i FEEL them so deeply.

these are the things that make life meaningful to me. and I have a whole list of people and places i want to see. and trust and believe you are on it. hehehe

We were really intent on getting all over London in one day!

I think it's not possible in a single day. But there is nothing wrong in trying 😅.

It's seems you guys have enjoyed a lot and I can feel it a little bit reading your article. I think sometimes we all need to go outside and spend such kind of time.

I agree with you - it's so importantfor us to not be caged up inside our own borders - we aren't meant to live like this! we need to exchange information and bits of us through the things we see and share and eat and touch and smell! hehehehe

it's so important for us to be connected in these ways. it's such a passion of mine! I hope for days when we can all see others across the world with greater ease! thanks for your visit hehe

thank you @livinguktaiwan !!! I so appreciated you following me on this journey for the whole 3 posts! hehehe it felt nice to have someone notice the joy that we experienced - it made me feel SEEN :)

I am hoping to encourage some dreemers this month to come join in the fun here... let's see if we can stir them up to share some of their own travels hehehe

I dont' know if many of our dreemers GET to see the world - or only "dreem" of it. I hate that we live in a world where it's easier for some (like me) to do these things and so difficult for others to have the same experience.

one of my greatest hopes is that I'll be able to share what I do with others in the future in a new way. I've written about it in my post from yesterday hehehe and i tried to do it last year... but my dreams were halted temporarily.

but that's ok. because necessity is the mother of invention - right?

so who knows... maybe someday - I will be able to do what I dreem - even if just in small ways, and for one person at a time... but I dare to dreem :)

thank you again @livinguktaiwan!!! and @pinmapple - you've made this journey even more special!!!

can't wait to share more of my journey in UK... i think it's Scotland next hehehehe

love to you!!!

I got three pictures out of all of that (boo hoo!) but, the Tower of London and the Tower Bridge were enough of a reminder of just how beautiful it is there! The shot of the three of you is so stinkin adorable, what a fun time you had!

I love that you got all together and painted the town red! This time will go down in the history of Dreemport, for sure!

I look forward to the rest of the UK and now that I have hit US soil, I will be on more!!! Thank you for sharing this and I am so behind, but, just know, I had a great time following you!

#MarketFriday began as a way to reach out across the globe and learn about different cultures through their markets, especially local markets and farmers' markets, and eventually branched out and evolved over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, and even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact that these things are normal for us. There are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I have learned so much about all of you and it has been an amazing experience. I can only hope that learning about each other can help us work together for a peaceful world. Thank you for being a part of #MarketFriday

Rules of the Road to Join #MarketFriday!

1.Go to any type of market, or anywhere that you pay money for a service. It can be a museum, a movie theatre, or an auction. Be creative!
2.Tell us a little bit about the market or the event. What brought you there? What did you buy? How much did it cost? We like to compare prices, otherwise it is just pictures of a market!
3.Post the pictures! No out of focus ones please! Tell a little bit about the pictures that you post. Having many pictures to scroll through does not make a better post without explanation.
4.Use the MarketFriday Community Platform to post #hive-196308 (this is not required, but appreciated) If you don't, then #MarketFriday should be your first tag
5.Following me and reblogging the post so more see it would be appreciated !! Not a rule, just appreciated, more vision for more views on your posts!
. You must put #MarketFriday by @dswigle somewhere on your post.
6.#MarketFriday post should be submitted sometime on Friday UTC
7.The post MUST be in English
8.Drop the link into the MarketFriday comment section so I can find it

#MarketFriday loves you!
