Discover Nalum Falls: Untouched Beauty in the Heart of Sultan Kudarat with Young Local Tribal Guides

Hello hivers and travelers of this amazing @worldmappin Community! There’s something magical about discovering places that are not yet crowded with tourist or trending on social media. Sometimes, the best places are not the most popular ones. This is what I discovered when I visited Nalum Falls in Daluga, Bagumbayan, Sultan Kudarat. It’s a quiet, simple, peaceful with amazing views and calm feeling that stays with you.

In this adventure, I not only saw a beautiful waterfall, but I also met wonderful people – the Tribal children who joined me on the way. This adventure was a simple but full of heart. I never imagined that this quite adventure would teach me so much about nature, culture and contentment.

How I Got There
The trip started from Isulan, Sultan Kudarat. I first ride a multicab going to Bagumbayan, Sultan Kudarat which took about half hour. Then from Poblacion, Bagumbayan, I ride a Habal Habal motorcycle going to Barangay Daluga. The ride cost 300.00 Pesos but the view during the ride was already a treat mountain, surrounded by hills, trees and fresh air all around.
When we reached the last stop for the motorcycle, the driver said we needed to hike for 30 minutes to reach the falls. The trail was uphill and a bit tiring, but I was excited. Every step brought me closer to nature. My Legs started to hurt, but knew something amazing was waiting for me.

The Heartwarming Company of The Tribal Kids: My Young Guides

Along the way, I was joined by a Group of Tribal Kids. They were so simple and kind. I gave them snacks and they were already happy with that. In return, they guided me with smiles and laughter all throughout the trail.
They didn’t have gadgets, fancy clothes or shoes, but their eyes sparkled with a connection to the land. They were used to walking through the forest and didn’t even look tired. I amaze to their innocence and kindness. I was so thankful to them; they made my hike lighter and more fun.

Reaching Nalum Falls
When we reached Nalum Falls, I felt tired but happy. The water wasn’t very strong when I went there, because it hadn’t rained. But even so, it was beautiful in person. There were big rocks, tall trees, and a peaceful sound of water. One of the best parts was the sea of clouds the mountains. It felt like I was on top of the world. They said that during rainy days the falls become even more beautiful and stunning.

I took some photos, but more than that, I just sit there and enjoyed the moment.

The Lesson From this Trip
Visiting to Nalum Falls made me realize that you don’t always about how famous places or Instagrammable a place is it but about how it makes you feel to be happy. Sometimes, the best moments are the simple ones.

This adventure was not just about chasing a waterfall. It was about embracing the simplicity of life, value of smiles and realizing that nature does not have be loud to be beautiful.

I saw how the Tribal kids were happy just walking and talking. I felt how calm and quite nature can be. I realized that even though the path was hard and tiring. The reward at the end was worth it.

If you ever visit Sultan Kudarat, try going to Nalum Falls. Its not easy to reach but that’s what makes special. You will see a different side of beauty, take time to explore hidden places. Sometimes, the simple adventures are the ones that stay in your heart forever.
