WILD BUT BEAUTIFUL - THE SILVER COCK'S COMB (POB PHOTO CONTEST ENTRY))

I was going for my field work rounds earlier today. I did not exactly plan to take pictures anywhere along the way because I already knew the terrain, but I still took my camera along nevertheless.

I visited a Primary Health Care Centre where I was going to do my work and noticed this flurry of pink in the uncultivated land space beside the facility.

They were wild flowers - called Silver Cock's Comb
Regarded as wild weeds by some because they tend to survive intensive weeding, they are easy to plant as flowers and need little oversight.
However, a prototype of these plants are grown commonly as a vegetable called "Soko" in my dialect (Yoruba).

I knew this was probably only thing I would be able to get shots of the whole day and so I took advantage of that.
Before checking in to the facility, I took some close up shots of the flowers with my 14-42mm MFT lens.

The sun was already out and shining at its peak, with little to no clouds to cushion its bright strenght, so I had more than enough daylight to flood the flowers.
