We visited an ostrich farm on our round-trip in Oudtshoorn, South Africa. I wanted to share some of my snaps of these truly fascinating birdies.

Oudtshoorn is a small town in the Klein Karoo area of South Africa’s Western Cape. It’s known for its ostrich farms so is a great place to go if you would like to visit and learn about these birds.

Are they not the strangest looking creatures?

I am so in love with their beautiful big eyes and gorgeous eyelashes though, those eyes are so filled with personality and emotion.

Fun fact about ostrich eggs... one egg can weigh around 1.5kg and is equivalent to 24 chicken eggs, they are the largest egg of any bird. We even got the chance to stand on an ostrich egg at the farm, those bad boys are solid.
