Walking through Guayacan. Mérida, Venezuela. Eng-Esp

This time, we will be touring Guayacán, during a hike that left me with the satisfaction of discovering another corner of my state of Mérida. We arrived at this community by bus. Our destination is to visit a recreation center and spend a different kind of day with the family. The bus dropped us off far from our destination, and we had the option of calling a taxi or walking, and the latter seemed more fun.

From the start, I knew it would be a delightful walk. Just seeing the landscape that awaited me, a hamlet surrounded by nature, made me think that these people live in a peaceful environment. Also, for those who have read a little about me before, you know that I love to admire architecture, and this beautiful inn gave me a taste of what I could find.

The weather was perfect, the day was sunny, but not enough to tire me out quickly. As we climbed, I enjoyed the green view. I thought it was a very pretty community and wondered why I hadn't seen it before. On the way up, I didn't stop to take many photos, preferring to save my camera for the return trip.

We arrived at the recreation center and look at the landscape that welcomed us. See those tall plants? They are plantains and bananas. As we call them here, you probably know them as bananas.

We enjoyed our day and walked back in the afternoon. At first, the road is narrow, made of rough concrete and stones. I managed to see some residential houses amid the abundant vegetation of the place. Then we reached the small bridge that allows us to cross the river. If I'm not mistaken, it has the same name.

We started down a dirt road, where I fell in love with some flowers, and arrived at an inn that impressed me with its beautiful architecture. It's called Estancia Villas Marcountry, and it seems like a spectacular place to stay and enjoy yourself. I really liked the facade of the inns and their warm colors.

A few meters later, we reached the main road. This road can take us to one of the oldest towns in Venezuela, a town I have always wanted to visit. We began to descend and found an entrance that caught my attention: the entrance to Villas el Baho. I really liked this entrance and was curious to explore this trail.

We continued downhill and I found several charming, picturesque little houses that reflect the local architecture: low houses to protect against the cold, rustic finishes, and Creole tiles.

We reached a point on the road that gave us a view of the town of Ejido. It looked beautiful.

I also remembered my childhood when I found this plant whose flower contains seeds that look like a rattle. My child picked up a couple of them from the ground and brought them home.

And amid these rays of sunshine, we arrived at the inn. A friendly gentleman was outside and treated us to one of those conversations that are worth their weight in gold. He told us a little about the inn, his family, and its history, all while we waited for the bus that would take us home.

Something that caught my attention is this mural, which is a mixture of an old house, a country house, and the current facade of the inn. With these photos, I bid farewell to this Wednesday's walk, which I am happy to join.

Esta vez, estaremos recorriendo Guayacán, en medio de una caminata que me dejó la satisfacción de conocer otro rincón de mi Estado Mérida. Llegamos a esta comunidad en autobús. Nuestro destino es visitar un centro recreacional y pasar un día diferente en familia. El transporte nos dejaba lejos del lugar, teníamos la opción de llamar un taxi o caminar y la segunda se veía más divertida.

Desde el inicio sabía que sería una caminata encantadora. Con solo ver el paisaje que me esperaba, un caserío rodeado de naturaleza, me hizo pensar que estas personas viven en un ambiente de tranquilidad. Además, para quienes han leído un poco de mí antes, sabe que amo admirar la arquitectura y esta hermosa posada me dio un abreboca de lo que podía encontrar.

El clima estaba perfecto, el día estaba soleado, pero no lo suficiente para fatigarme rápidamente. Mientras subíamos disfrutaba de la vista verde. Me pareció una comunidad muy linda y me preguntaba por qué no la había conocido antes. Subiendo, no me detuve a tomar muchas fotos, preferí guardar mi cámara para el regreso.

Llegamos al centro recreacional y miren el paisaje que nos dio la bienvenida, ven esas plantas altas, son de cambur y plátano. Como aquí le llamamos, seguramente la conoces como banana.

Disfrutamos nuestro día y por la tarde caminamos de regreso. Al principio, la carretera es estrecha, de concreto rústico y piedras. Logré observar algunas casas residenciales en medio de la abundante vegetación del lugar. Después llegamos al pequeño puente, que nos permite cruzar el río. Si no me equivoco, tiene el mismo nombre.

Comenzamos un trayecto de tierra, donde me enamoré de unas flores y llegamos a una posada que me impresionó por su linda arquitectura. Se llama Estancia Villas Marcountry, parece ser un lugar espectacular para hospedarse y disfrutar. Me gustó mucho la fachada de las posadas y sus tonos cálidos.

Unos cuantos metros después llegamos a la carretera principal. Esta carretera puede llevarnos a uno de los pueblos más antiguos de Venezuela, un pueblo que siempre he querido conocer. Comenzamos a bajar y encontramos una entrada que llamó mi atención: la entrada a Villas el Baho. Me gustó mucho esta entrada y me quedé con la curiosidad de explorar este sendero.

Seguimos bajando y encontré varias casitas encantadoras, muy pintorescas, que reflejan la arquitectura local, casas bajitas para protegerse del frío, acabados rústicos y tejas criollas.

Llegamos a un punto de la carretera que nos daba una vista a la población de Ejido. Se veía hermoso.

También recordé mi infancia al encontrar esta planta cuya flor encierra unas semillas que se parecen a un sonajero. Mi niño llevó un par de ellas a casa que estaban en el suelo.

Y en medio de estos rayos del sol, llegamos a la posada. Un amable señor estaba afuera y nos regaló una conversación de esas que valen oro, nos contó un poco de la posada, su familia y su historia, todo mientras esperábamos el autobús que nos llevaría a casa.

Algo que llamó mi atención, es este mural, que es la mezcla de una casa antigua, y una casa de campo y la actual fachada de la posada. Con estas fotos me despido de este miércoles de caminata, a la cual estoy feliz de unirme.
