Hello, DIY friends, happy start to the week. It's great to say hello and show you how I made my son a crazy soccer-themed hat to wear to school.

Lately, schools have been celebrating a special day where creativity and imagination take center stage; children and young people can go to school with a creative hairstyle or a different accessory. In this case, my son wore a hat that references the famous soccer classic, that popular match between Real Madrid and Barcelona. You know, my son is passionate about this sport, and he couldn't pass up this opportunity to show it once again.

I had already made the cap, so I had an idea of how to make the hat, although the truth is that it took me a while. I tried to use materials I had at home and only bought the red and blue foam, plus the prints. I found all the images on Pinterest and created the main collage with the players and each team's crest on Canva.

In the end, these are the materials I used:

• Scraps of gold and blue glitter cardstock.
• Blue and red letter-size foam.
• Printouts of the images.
• Silicone.
• Scissors.
• Pencil.

Procedure

• Cut a strip of gold cardstock approximately 52 cm long and 20 cm high, leaving 2 cm on each side to make the tabs that will attach to the base and top of the hat.

• Make small triangular cuts at each end and bend to shape the eyelashes.

• Cut an 18 cm circle out of recycled cardboard and cut a larger 26 cm circle out of blue cardboard. Place the small cylinder in the center and create a ring shape; this will be the base of the hat.

— I joined the pieces together with hot silicone, and that was it—the hat was ready. All that was left to do was decorate it.

• For the middle of the hat, cut 7 cm wide strips of red and blue fabric and decorate with images of the Barcelona F.C. team.

• I left the other half of the hat with a gold background and decorated it with images of the Real Madrid F.C. team. I cut out a gold circle to cover the top of the hat and added an image with my child's name. I also added various soccer images where I thought they were needed.

And that's how happy my child was with the result.

We really liked the result, and my child enjoyed the activity. With this craft, I learned something new and realized that it is easier than I thought. I know I have to perfect some details, and if we covered it with fabric and used stronger cardboard, it would be perfect.

Hola, amigos DIY, feliz inicio de semana. Qué gusto saludarlos y mostrarles cómo le realicé a mi hijo un sombrero loco con la temática de futbol, para que llevara a clases.

Últimamente, en las escuelas celebran un día especial, donde la creatividad y la imaginación son las protagonistas; los niños y jóvenes pueden ir a clases con un peinado creativo o con un accesorio diferente. En este caso, mi niño fue con un sombrero que hace referencia al famoso clásico de fútbol, ese partido tan popular entre el Real Madrid y el Barcelona. Ya saben, mi hijo es un apasionado de este deporte y no podía dejar pasar esta oportunidad para demostrarlo una vez más.

Ya había realizado el birrete, así que tenía una idea de cómo elaborar el sombrero, aunque la verdad es que me costó un poco. Traté de usar materiales que tenía en casa y solo compré el foami rojo y azul, más las impresiones. Todas las imágenes las encontré en Pinterest y en Canva creé el collage principal con los jugadores y el escudo de cada equipo.

Al final, estos son los materiales que use:

• Retazos de cartulina escarchada dorada y azul.
• Foami tamaño carta azul y rojo.
• Impresiones de las imagenes
• Silicon
• Tijeras
• Lápiz.

Procedimiento

• Corte una tira de cartulina dorada de 52 cm aproximadamente y 20 cm de alto, dejando 2 cm en cada lado para realizar las pestañas que se unirán a la base y la tapa del sombrero.

• Realice pequeños cortes triangulares en cada extremo y doble para darle forma a las pestañas.

• Corte un círculo de 18 cm con cartulina reciclada y corte uno más grande de 26 cm en la cartulina azul, coloque el cilindro pequeño en el centro y cree una especie de anillo; esta sería la base del sombrero.

— Uní las partes con silicón caliente y listo, el sombrero estaba listo, solo hacía falta decorarlo.

• Para la mitad del sombrero, corte franjas de 7 cm de espesor en color rojo y azul y decore con las imágenes del equipo de Barcelona F.C.

• La otra mitad del sombrero la dejé con el fondo dorado y decoré con las imágenes del equipo Real Madrid F.C. Recorté un círculo dorado para cubrir la tapa del sombrero y agregué una imagen con el nombre de mi niño. Y agregué diversas imágenes de fútbol donde creí necesario.

Y así de feliz estaba mi niño con el resultado.

Nos gusto mucho el resultado y mi niño disfruto de la actividad. Con esta manualidad aprendí algo nuevo y me di cuenta de que es mas fácil de lo que pensé, se que tengo que perfeccionar algunos detalles y si forraramos con tela y usaramos un cartón mas fuerte quedaría perfecto.
