Admiring a beautiful mural depicting our roots. Eng-Esp

A couple of weeks ago I discovered a new piece of art on the walls of downtown Merida, Venezuela. This work is part of the mural city project, a project that took place last year and of which I have surely many pieces to admire and discover.

This mural left me fascinated, its vibrant colors are a real eye drop for the eyes and offers us a harmonious and joyful view of streets that simply needed this. This mural represents our roots, our ancestors, it represents innocence and tenderness through the eyes of a sweet little girl.

Hace un par de semanas descubrí una nueva pieza de arte plasmada en las paredes del centro de Mérida, Venezuela. Esta obra forma parte del proyecto ciudad mural, un proyecto que se llevó a cabo el año pasado y del cual me quedan seguramente muchas piezas por admirar y descubrir.

Este mural me dejó fascinada, sus colores vibrantes son un verdadero colirio para los ojos y nos ofrece una vista armoniosa y alegre de unas calles que simplemente necesitaban de esto. Este mural representa nuestras raíces, nuestro antepasado, representa inocencia y ternura a través de la mirada de una dulce niña.

One of the things I like most about this mural is the gradient background in purple and blue tones. I think it creates a more striking and dramatic scene, plus I love the fact that the little girl is wearing an orchid flower, our national flower, in her ears. The eagle in the background also creates an interesting contrast.

Next to the girl we have a handmade piece and in striking letters we find the word Tatuy a word that if you visit the Venezuelan Andes you will hear or read a lot and is that Tatuy is the name of one of the first aboriginal groups of Merida and the west of the country, in fact tatuy means “the most ancient”.

Una de las cosas que más me gustan de este mural, es el fondo degradado en tonos morados y azules. Creo que genera una escena más llamativa y dramática, además adoro que la niña lleve en sus orejas una flor de orquídea, nuestra flor nacional. El águila de fondo también crea un contraste interesante.

Al lado de la niña tenemos uno pieza artesanal y en letras llamativas encontramos la palabra Tatuy una palabra que si visitas los andes venezolanos la escucharás o leerás mucho y es que Tatuy es el nombre de uno de los primeros grupos aborígenes de Mérida y el occidente del país, de hecho tatuy significa "lo más antiguo"

In the lower corner we find the name of the artist, to whom I give all the credits for this wonderful work and we can see that it is dedicated to someone and that is another of the wonderful things about art, because through it we can express, admiration, love, respect for someone or something in particular.

Undoubtedly, this mural has been one of my favorites of this project, for its meaning and the realism it transmits.

En la esquina inferior encontramos el nombre del artista, a quien le doy todos los créditos de este trabajo maravilloso y podemos ver que se lo dedica a alguien y eso es otra de las cosas maravillosas del arte, ya que a través de él podemos expresar, admiración, amor, respeto por alguien o algo en particular.

Sin duda, este mural ha sido uno de mis favoritos de este proyecto, por su significado y el realismo que transmite.

The other side of the street was also full of color, with murals that, although they have a different style and concept, fill this long wall of an educational institution with harmony. Here the color blue also dominates the scene.

El otro lado de la calle, también estaba lleno de color, con murales que, aunque tienen un estilo y concepto diferente, llenan de armonía esta larga pared de una institución educativa. Aquí el color azul también domina la escena.

Here we find a series of animated characters, very nice and unique, in front of a mountain of curves and waves. Some of them look very cheerful, others spit fire or use some tool. Below them we find a lot of words. Undoubtedly, it is a mural dedicated to children or perhaps made by artists of this institution.

Aquí encontramos una serie de personajes animados, muy simpáticos y singulares, al frente de una montaña de curvas y ondas. Algunos se ven muy alegres, otros escupen fuego o usan alguna herramienta. Debajo de ellos encontramos un montón de palabras. Sin duda, es un mural dedicado a los niños o tal vez realizado por artistas de esta institución.

Street art is something I like to enjoy, especially murals like these that tell or represent a story. I hope you like them and enjoy them as much as I do.

El arte callejero es algo que me gusta disfrutar, sobre todo murales como estos que cuentan o representan una historia. Espero que les guste y los disfruten tanto como yo.
