A hike to the viewpoint at the Trappist Monastery of Our Lady of the Andes and the return home. Eng-Esp

Hello, friends at Hive, it feels so good to be writing again without pain. Although I am still dealing with some health issues, after a few days of rest, picking up the keyboard and writing freely feels wonderful.
On the last Wednesday walk, I told you that I had the pleasure of visiting Hato de Estanques, a charming town located in the south of the state of Mérida, with beautiful weather and extraordinary people who fill you with warmth and peace.

After a few days, we had to head back home; obligations and duty called us, so we began our return journey. One of the difficulties of these places is that public transportation is very limited. To increase our chances, we walked to a place called La Loma, better known as El Monasterio, because this is where the Trappist Monastery of Our Lady of the Andes is located.
We woke up to the sound of rain, and when it stopped, we began walking through these mountains, feeling very cold and wishing we could stay longer. The road is very desolate, but the sounds of the animals in these mountains make the journey fun and interesting.

We walked for about 30 minutes; the wet asphalt slowed us down. It was also the perfect opportunity to have an interesting conversation with my little one, who was full of questions about nature.
The entire route is through this cloud forest, full of tall trees and lush vegetation; even when the sun is shining brightly, the climate in this area remains humid and very cool at all times.

Finally, we reached a more open area, a beautiful viewpoint, where we could see the main road leading to Mérida and all the communities and towns along it, such as Estanques, El Anís, Los Araques, Chiguara, and, in the background, behind those cloud-covered mountains, Ejido (our destination) and the city of Mérida.
We rested for a while at this stop and took the opportunity to spend time with my sister and nephew before our paths separated again, as they live in the opposite direction, towards the Mocotíes Valley, a place I hope to visit soon. Of course, we had to take some photos.

Finally, an angel arrived on earth; he was kind enough to take my sister and nephew to the next stop and me to Ejido. I couldn't have been happier; I saved money on the fare.
I tried to take some photos on the road so you could see the impressive change in climate. Here we are passing through Lagunillas, an arid area full of cacti, because the ecosystem in the state of Mérida is very variable.
I hope you enjoyed this little tour. I loved this trip; it recharged my batteries and filled me with peace, something that usually happens when we return to those places where we have been so happy.

Don't hesitate to visit the towns south of Mérida; they are full of adventure, beautiful weather, incredible views, and friendly people.

Until next time, a million blessings to your families.
