A TRIP TO KARDZHALI DAM (Rhodope mountain)

Hello travel lovers. In today's post I will share my impressions of visitin one of the most famous dams in Bulgaria. It is about 3 hours away from the town where I'm born. I tried to capture different moments while traveling as I've never been in this part of the country before.
The first picture illustrated the beginning of the journey - early morning in the industrial zone on a way out of town Sliven.

After driving for a couple of miles we were already on the motorway where I enjoyed the poppy fields along both sides of the road.

We had a coffee break in Kuma Lisa bar and grill, not far from Nova Zagora. I mention this into the post because of the next pictures. It seemed to me original to promote the name of the restaurant in this way.

Whenever I think that there is nothing that would surprise me in Bulgaria, something does.

Lets move forward to main purpose of our trip - having a quality time with the family and enjoying Eastern Rhodopes nature.

I've booked a couple of nights in a guest house in a village named Glavatartsi.

I quite enjoy the location as we had a great overview of the dam.

The only disadvantage was that during our stay the roads in the area were under repair. It was quite difficult to drive a car, so when we needed to buy something from the nearest shop (which is a mile away - in the next village), we went on foot.

From other point of view this was an opportunity to explore the nature. Along the road connecting the two villages there is a beautiful coniferous forest.

At the entrance of the other village I have noticed beehives. I asked local people if I can buy a natural honey and they were very polite and helpful to explain me.

After coming

After returning to Glavatartsi, I took a short walk down to the dam. I have taken many good pictures. Capturing good memories through the camera is one of the things that really gives me great pleasure.

A boat tour of the dam is available for boating enthusiasts.

Of course this place is suitable for fishing enthusiasts as well.
I personally have more fun eating fish than catching it, it is definetely not my favorite activity.

There is nothing more relaxing and relaxing than a vacation in the mountains. Clean air, delicious and healthy food and peace of mind are some of the most important factors we should strive to acquire. I found all these in here.
