Season of Wild Sunflower in Highland of Vietnam

Hi dear Hivers in the Worldmappin community, another season of wild sunflowers has come to our land. Today I want to show you some photos of them that I took yesterday. First, I want to talk about the place where I took photos of wild sunflowers. I took photos of them at Chu Dang Ya volcano, a famous destination in Chu Pah commune, Gia Lai province, a fertile land in Highland of Vietnam. This is a cluster of volcanoes that stopped working thousands of years ago. And this fertile land is currently the agricultural land of the local people living around.

Every year at the end of October until December, Chu Dang Ya volcano puts on a bright yellow coat of wild sunflowers. Wild sunflowers are grown here for two purposes, one is to mark the boundaries between coffee plantations, and two is that the roots of wild sunflowers have the effect of regenerating nitrogen for the soil.

Every year at this time of year, many tourists flock here to take photos with wild sunflowers, creating a festive atmosphere for this land. Chu Dang Ya volcano is located about 10km from the city center, and is surrounded by Ngo Son mountains and rice fields. Therefore, during the rest of the year, this area is quite deserted and peaceful. During this time, Chu Dang Ya becomes bustling and cheerful thanks to wild sunflowers.
