RIPE RICE SEASON IN MU CANG CHAI – A GOLDEN PAINTING ON THE TOP OF THE HIGH MOUNTAINS

Hi dear Hivers in the Worldmappin community, today I will take you to one of the must-visit destinations in Vietnam, Mu Cang Chai. At this time of year, Mu Cang Chai seems to wake up from a long sleep, wearing a golden coat stretching from the valley to the towering mountains. The terraced fields here are already famous as man-made wonders in the Northwest of Vietnam, but when the ripe rice season comes, they become a vivid picture with brilliant yellow color blending with the green of the mountains and forests. Each layer of rice fields is stacked on top of each other like steps leading to the sky, winding around the mountainside, creating a majesty that few places can compare to. Under the early morning sunlight, the ripe rice flowers shine like gold on the ground, making visitors want to stop for a long time to admire.
Behind that magnificent beauty is the figure of the H'Mong people - the people who have created the wonder of terraced fields with their industrious hands for generations. They wake up before the sun has risen, step firmly on the narrow rice fields, and diligently take care of each rice field as if taking care of a part of the soul of the mountains and forests. From watering, tilling the land to planting seeds, the H'Mong people rely on their long-standing experience, understanding of the terrain and perseverance. It is this tireless labor that has created the brilliant golden season, making Mu Cang Chai one of the most beautiful destinations in Vietnam every autumn.
To reach that golden season, visitors must overcome the winding roads typical of the Northwest - where every bend, every slope brings challenges to those who choose to travel by motorbike. The road to La Pan Tan, De Xu Phinh or Che Cu Nha has steep slopes, small roads and constantly changing directions, but it is this journey that makes the trip memorable. The feeling of riding between mountains and hills, the cool wind blowing in your face, and the vast golden sea in front of you, makes all fatigue disappear. The experience for those who ride motorbikes is to keep a steady speed, always use low gear on steep slopes, avoid sudden braking on bends and especially observe the road carefully because sometimes buffaloes and cows can appear unexpectedly.
The ripe rice season in Mu Cang Chai is not only beautiful to see, but also beautiful because of the stories behind it: the story of the hard work of the H'Mong people, the story of the journey to conquer dangerous roads, and the story of the harmony between nature and people. That is the reason why everyone who has been here wants to come back, to once again immerse themselves in the brilliant golden sea of autumn in the Northwest of Vietnam.
