Portrait of the Mo Nam people in Mang Den

Hello dear Hivers in the Photography Lovers community, today I would like to send you portraits of the Mo Nam people. The Mo Nam people are one of the ethnic minorities who have lived for a long time in the Mang Den area. In the midst of the vast forests of the Central Highlands, they still maintain a simple lifestyle, closely connected to nature and the community.

The Mo Nam people mainly live on slash-and-burn farming, growing rice, corn, cassava, and recently growing coffee and vegetables to adapt to market demand. They are also good at weaving and making utensils from bamboo and forest wood. Although life is still difficult, diligence and community spirit help them overcome challenges and maintain their own identity.

In their spiritual life, the Mo Nam people especially value festivals. They have rituals to pray for crops, celebrate new rice, worship the water wharf... associated with the belief in the harmony between humans and the gods of the mountains and forests. The gong music that echoes in the festival is the soul of the Mo Nam culture, expressing the joy, sadness and sacred connection of the community.

The Mo Nam people are gentle, honest and hospitable. They are willing to invite visitors into their stilt houses to drink jars of rice wine, tell stories about the mountains and forests, about myths and legends associated with life. Every simple smile, every bright eye under the white hair or calloused hands all reflect the portrait of a community that is preserving its cultural identity in the flow of modernity.
