Kon Tu Ma – A hidden village in the deep forest of Mang Den

Hi dear Hivers in the Worldmappin community, today I will take you to a beautiful village of Mang Den. Located deep in the old forests of Mang Den, Kon Tu Ma village appears like a peaceful dot in the middle of the deep green forest. This is one of the villages that still retains the most original beauty of the highland mountains, separate from the noise of the city and full of the breath of nature.
Kon Tu Ma has a very special geographical location. From the center of Mang Den, you have to cross the roads through the primeval forest to reach the village. About 18km from the center of Mang Den, it usually takes me 40 minutes to drive there. It is this isolation that makes Kon Tu Ma seem to be surrounded by nature, becoming a destination that is both wild and poetic, very suitable for those who want to experience the tranquility of the great forest.
The life of the people of Kon Tu Ma takes place slowly and simply. In the morning, the sound of roosters crowing and the wind blowing through the stilt houses signal a new day. Men often go to the forest, to the fields to work; women tend gardens, weave brocade or weave, take care of children or go to the stream to catch fish, snails,... children play barefoot in the village yard. Everything is rustic but exudes a peace that is hard to find in modern places.
The villagers are Xơ Đăng, one of the oldest ethnic groups in the Central Highlands. They live in harmony with nature, considering the forest as a friend, protector and main source of livelihood. The Xơ Đăng are very gentle, honest and hospitable. They still maintain many traditional customs such as gong festivals, basket weaving, and building stilt houses. Coming to Kon Tu Ma, visitors not only get to see the scenery but also have the opportunity to experience the unique cultural values of the Xơ Đăng.
The beautiful scenery of Kon Tu Ma has the pristine beauty typical of the Central Highlands. The vast green forests surrounding the village, the small clear stream flowing around, blending with the stilt house roofs looming in the middle of the hill. The smoke from the kitchen in the afternoon lingers in the air, making the scene poetic, while the light purple sunset on the hillside creates a strangely peaceful feeling. There seems to be no trace of hustle and bustle here, all there is is nature and people living together in pure simplicity.
Amidst the increasingly strong development of Mang Den tourism, Kon Tu Ma is still one of the places that fully preserves the soul of this land. This is not only a village but also a cultural treasure, a place where people can return to feel the peaceful pace of life, to understand more about the Xo Dang people and to touch the original beauty remaining in the great forest.
Thank you very much for taking time to read my post. I hope you enjoy it and have a nice day.

Cool photos! Its nice to get a glimpse into this peaceful countryside village. It looks as though the people are living quite close to how their ancestors would have, which is really rare to see in this modern era. Do you use a drone for the overhead shots?
Kon Tu Ma is a hidden paradise @dodovietnam. Your photos captured what you told us in this blog. The village feels surreal and unbothered from the unnecessary noises. The landscape and its rich forest is calming and promising that there are still groups caring the nature.
This paragraph encapsulates the beauty of the village. The sensation you evoked is satisfying, feels like I am reading an old fold story. The people there must be so contented and good in life. Nice photos by the way. Truly a photographer because of how you were able to give context to your piece.

First of all, I really love your photos. I am just so stunned that you have taken such beautiful pictures and really captured how these people live their lives there in the deep forest and what their day-to-day looks like.
Most especially, I love the pictures of the cats! by the way, because I really love cats. So I am going to give that to you for giving us the cat appreciation, the cat tax! 🐱
I love that although there are not a lot of words in this post, you have captured moments quite vividly. It was very simple pictures of just gathering, family, children, and gathering around food and very simple things. It is quite crazy that we cannot even appreciate and live on a day-to-day basis.
Thank you for sharing this. This really reminds me to slow down and appreciate life more. I love the simplicity of the countryside. I wish I could visit one someday.
Excellent photographs that perfectly capture the local community's culture. Thank you so much for sharing.
