Visiting a former archaeological museum and nature reserve // Visitando un ex museo arqueológico y reserva natural

A few days ago, my mother, daughters, and I decided to visit an old house in the town of Llambi Campbell, located approximately 55 km from my home. The owner is a fossil lover, so he and his wife built an archaeological museum in their home.
After a drive of approximately an hour, we arrived and found the owners there. We were sadly informed that the museum had been dismantled. This is because they are moving the museum to the city, not to the outskirts, as the owner has heart problems and needs to be close to a medical center, not 2 km away from the city.

Hace unos días decidimos ir junto con mi madre y mis hijas a visitar una casa antigua en la localidad de Llambi Campbell que se sitúa aproximadamente 55 km desde mi ubicación y el propietario es un amante de los fósiles por lo que hizo un museo arqueológico en su propia casa junto con su esposa. Luego de un viaje de aproximadamente una hora llegamos y se encontraban los dueños por lo que nos llevamos con la mala noticia de que el museo había sido desarmado. Se debe a que van a mudar el museo a la ciudad y no a las lejanías ya que el dueño tiene algunos problemas de corazón y necesita estar cerca de cualquier centro médico y no a 2 km en las lejanías de la ciudad.

Another reason the museum was dismantled is because the house is quite old, and the bricks were built on mud. This house is over 120 years old.
The owners were very hospitable and allowed us to tour the entire place, even though many of the birds that were there before were donated to other places and others are in the house where they are currently moving. We were able to observe some birds, most of which were beautiful and they seemed very happy living there with little care.

Otra de las razones por la que fue desarmado el museo es porque la casa es bastante antigua y los ladrillos fueron levantados sobre barro esta casa cuenta con más de 120 años de antigüedad. Los dueños fueron muy hospitalarios y nos permitieron recorrer todo el lugar a pesar de que muchas de las aves que antes se encontraban fueron donadas a otros lugares y otras están en la casa donde se están mudando actualmente, podemos observar algunas aves de las cuales la mayoría son hermosas y se las veía muy felices viviendo ahí con un cuidado al margen.

What never ceases to amaze me about that place is the amount of plants and cacti that can be found since the owner received seeds of all kinds from around the world and gave incredible care to the entire place.

Lo que nunca me deja sorprender de ese lugar es la cantidad de plantas y cactus que se pueden encontrar ya que la dueña recibió semillas de todo tipo del mundo y le dio un cuidado increíble a todo el lugar.

We were able to take home some oranges and grapefruits, which we still eat at home today, and the flavor is exquisite. We also had a tour of all the plants with the owner, and we were surprised to find that, despite not being able to see any dinosaur fossils, we were able to see petrified trees. These petrified trees blended in with the rocks surrounding several of the plants. You can see my daughter's feet in some photos, along with the petrified tree beneath her feet. We learned a lot, and that this natural process of petrifying a tree takes around 150 years and depends on where the tree was located. It usually occurs when the branches are submerged under water somewhere.

Pudimos llevarnos algunas naranjas y pomelos de los cuales hoy en día todavía seguimos consumiendo en casa y el sabor es exquisito. También tuvimos un tour por todas las plantas de parte de la dueña y nos llevamos la sorpresa de que a pesar de no encontrar la posibilidad de ver fósiles de dinosaurios pudimos ver árboles petrificados, estos árboles petrificados se confundían con las rocas que rodeaban a varias de las plantas y se podrá ver que en unas fotos se ven los pies de mi hija y debajo de sus pies el árbol petrificado. Aprendimos muchas cosas y que este proceso natural del árbol petrificado demora alrededor de 150 años y depende de dónde se encontraba el árbol que por lo general suele ocurrir cuando las ramas se encuentran sumergidas bajo agua en algún lado.
