Travel Post 48 - Baima Wholesale Clothing Market + APM Mall In Guangzhou, China

Hi there. In this travel post, our group visit the clothing wholesale market in Guangzhou, China. We visit the Guangzhou Railway Station area to see the wholesale market there and do some shopping.

Shenzhen is known for its Huaqiangbei electronics market while Guangzhou specializes in a wholesale clothing market. Both of these Chinese megacities are very good in what they offer, their food and both are close to Hong Kong and Macau.

Heading To Guangzhou Railway Station

The Guangzhou Railway Station area has a lot of wholesale clothing markets. There may be other wholesale clothing markets in other parts of Guangzhou.

To head to the Guangzhou Railway station by metro you want to head to the Guangzhou Railway Station stop on line 2 (dark blue) or line 5 (red). When you exit you want to follow the signs and choose Exit G that leads to the Baima Clothing market. There is a bit of walking involved.

Baima Clothing Wholesale Market Has Luggage and Jewelry Too

Guangzhou's Baima Wholesale Clothing market is pretty big. I wish I took more photos. This market is like a giant flea market where there are some many vendors to choose from. It can be a maze in some areas.

The main focus of these markets is clothing but there are some vendors that sell jewelry and luggage. Some of us in our travel group did purchase luggage for around 50 CAD each to store the stuff we bought from Shenzhen's electronics stores and any future purchases at the time.

Blurry image sorry. Did not hold phone steady.

apM Mall

Since we were in the area, we decided to check out this apM Mall on the other side. This apM Mall is huge and it also has many clothing vendors.

In the one section of the APM mall there are projectors that aim to the ceiling. You have ceiling screens that show ads.

In the center area of this mall you can see how tall this place is.

The upper floors in the apM Mall is not as busy. There are empty spaces and not so many businesses. It was just the lower floors and the ground floor that has all the action.

Closing Notes

Shenzhen's electronics markets was pretty crazy but the clothing markets in Guangzhou seemed even crazier. The amount of vendors, products and choices here is very overwhelming. A fair amount of international tourists visit here for shopping or for business.

For me, I did not buy anything as I felt no need to buy more clothes. The other people in my travel group went on a shopping spree. We did have to be careful on the amount of shopping. We had to be mindful of how much we would be able to carry on the flight back to Toronto, Canada.

If you are in Guangzhou, China, I do recommend visiting the wholesale clothing markets. Even if you don't buy anything, it is still nice to explore and see the amount of business being done here.

Thank you for reading.
