Travel Post 46 - Visiting Bruce Lee Ancestral Home In Guangzhou, China
Hi there. In this travel post, our group visit the Bruce Lee Ancestral Home in Guangzhou, China. This was one of my must visits in China along with Shenzhen's Huaqiangbei Electronics Market and Shanghai's Bund.
Navigation & Getting There
Navigation to the Bruce Lee Ancestral Home (or Lixiaolong Ancestral Home) is not easy going by metro & walking. From the Guangzhou Metro system, you want to head to Huangsha metro station on Line 1. Use Exit F.
When you exit Huangsha Station you want to walk past the Link Plaza Mall. If you go opposite of the mall and use the pedestrian bridge then you end up at Shamian Island. Shamian Island is another attraction in which I will cover in a future post. Map is provided.
Go straight on Datong Road going past the mall. Turn left on Enning Road. Walk straight for around 5 to 10 minutes. You are close if you pass a Muji store. There is an entrance on the right to a market area.
If you see this sign on the right then you have walked past the area. Turn around and enter the market area.
Outside Of House
There is a path on the first left I think. You should see statues at the end. That is the entrance of the Bruce Lee Ancestral Home. Admission is free. (Yes it is free.)

Bruce Lee Ancestral Home + Photos
The place is not as a big as a museum but there are a lot of things to see here. A lot of text provided on the walls mentioning Bruce Lee's life, family history and movie history.
I made sure to take a lot of photos here. Enjoy. (A few pictures are blurry. I must've not held the phone well while taking the pictures.)

Bruce Lee's Son - Brandon Lee
Muhammad Ali had good words to say about Bruce Lee. Chuck Norris was Bruce Lee's good friend.
There is one room that focused on Bruce Lee's films. This room also has pictures of Bruce Lee in his movies.
One thing to note is that the stairs are narrow and are old. Be kind of careful here. (Photos not shown)
Market Area Outside
Outside of the Bruce Lee ancestral home, there are small shops, gift shops, tea shops and restaurants in the area.
There is a small waterfall area too. (Waterfall picture not shown.)

I wonder if the Gen Zs and Alphas are aware of Bruce Lee.
Most likely not.
