Travel Post 45 - Ji Hotel In Guangzhou, China Review
Hi there. In this travel post, I do a hotel review of Ji Hotel in Guangzhou, China.
Our group liked Ji Hotel in Shanghai a few weeks ago prior to Guangzhou. As Guangzhou was our last city to stay at before departure, it made sense to choose a safe hotel option.
Ji Hotel In Guangzhou, China Jiangtai Road Subway Station
I wanted a hotel near a subway station that was central in Guangzhou, China. Ji Hotel was nice enough to visit again and this Jiangtai Road area was a good location. It was also close to the main pedestrian street Beijing Road.
We did 2 rooms for 6 nights. After some discounts and a early bird deal at the time, the cost came to 918 CAD.
This came to 153 CAD per night for the 2 rooms. Or this came to 76.50 CAD per night for a room. Hotel prices are really inexpensive if you come from the west. In the Toronto area, good luck finding a place that does even 100 CAD per night.
I did not take pictures of these items but they have free drinks and tea in their lounge area. A laundry room is available as long as you have your hotel card for access.
For breakfast buffet you pay a little bit more per day to have access to that. We did not go for it as we were near a shopping mall with a bakery nearby.
Address:
No 416, Jiangnan Avenue South, Haizhu District, Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, China
Closest Metro Station: Jiangtai Lu
Lobby Area
In the Shanghai Ji Hotel we were at, the elevator was right there near the front. With this Guangzhou location Ji Hotel, the elevator is past the front desk, service robot and the lounge area.
Beds & TV Area
It was preferable to book rooms with two single beds. They are kind of hard to find and you pay a little more compared to rooms with one large bed. The large bed in the room is a good size. You could use one of the provided pillows as a middle barrier to prevent rolling and hitting each other.
Bottled water, kettle and a mini-fridge are provided in each room. The sink is outside the shower & toilet near the front door.
Shower & Toilet
The washroom area has the smart toilet as you open the door. Then you have to open another door to get to the shower. Unfortunately, there is no separation between the toilet and the shower room. Both the smart toilet and shower room are nice though.
Closing Notes
Overall we enjoyed our stay at this Ji Hotel. It is not perfect but it does a lot of things right for a low price of 76.50 CAD per night (after discounts).
After exploration there was another hotel nearby. It was ATOUR hotel. I think their prices are around 100 CAD per night for a similar room. That hotel looked good too from online photos and their lobby.
Even though our group spent around 4 to 6 weeks in China, we liked Ji Hotel. This is a hotel brand I can recommend. (Mercure and ibis Hotels in China are good too.)
