Things I miss about Cebu part 3 Gyro rides

Unfortunately this is one Philippines treat that can’t be repeated as the company no longer operates but it really was the most fun you could have in the Philippines with your clothes on.

Before I left Cebu in 2021 following all the Covid malarky I decided to give myself a real treat and have a full 2 hour flight having enjoyed the short 15 minutes taster flights this seemed like a great way to finish off my time in Cebu. Operating from a small hanger and airstrip near Ronda, Gyros don’t need much room to take off.

After lift off we headed east to the other coast dodging some of the rain clouds that always appear over the hills.

The one down side is I wish I’d brought a jacket as it gets really chilly up that high even in the Philippines. I understand why WW2 pilots wear flying jackets. Plays havoc with your hair too.

Heading down the coast on the east side of Cebu you see some great views of resorts a from the height loads of bankas, the local outrigger dive and sightseeing boats.

On the way back up the west coast we had a view of famous Kawasan Falls I’d never expected see.

From there it wasn’t long before we were flying over Moalboal and a view of my apartment.

And favourite dive centre with @scubahead.

Finally we did a few circuits of Pescador Island one of the best dive sites in
Moalboal. Before heading back to Ronda.
