At low tide it’s quite wide too so plenty of room even during the holiday season.

Popular with surfers and body boarders all year round conditions can be challenging in the winter.

In the summer when conditions are good the beach is used by a number of surf schools and instructors so if your on holiday and fancy learning to surf it’s a great place to learn.

Besides the surfers in the autumn when the beach is less crowded it also attracts a number of kite buggy enthusiasts. On a beach this large it’s very exhilarating and speeds of 40 or 50MPH can be archived on a long run.

You often find dog owners on the beach and there is plenty of room for them to run about.

Dog owning Hivers do need to be careful as during the there are some restricted areas during the summer months and the fines can be quite large but there are plenty of signs so you should be OK if you check them out before you go on the beach.
