Kuala Lumpur roadside junction boxes And other art work.

Wandering around the city of Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia one of the more unusual things I have noticed is the way that they paint the junction boxes for traffic lights and telecoms.

From my hotel up to the KLCC park they are all of a similar style.

A sort of stylised urban cityscape mostly in blue and white.

But not all of them are painted which is a bit confusing.

And I think this one died.

Near to the Petronas Towers there is some building work going on and the boarding around it has also been painted but this was a sponsored job.

But it is quite extensive so it must have used a lot of paint.

I did like this pair though.

I was beginning to think they were all the same but on my walk down to Petaling Street there are a few different styles.

If your into birds you might like these.

Finally arriving at Petaling Street they give a clue to tell you that you’ve arrived.

Being in the heart of China Town I guess you can expect dragons.

One thing I did notice is that you don’t see a lot of normal graffiti and it’s usually very minimal when you do and they don’t seem to graffiti the painted junction boxes so there is a bit of respect there.
DSCN0039.jpeg

One of the few occasions I saw rubbish in the street too its very clean for a city.
DSCN0049.jpeg

The street art doesn’t stop at the junction boxes I also saw these metal sculptures.
DSCN0051.jpeg

And this one looks like it was made from recycled metal car parts.
DSCN0052.jpeg

Even the food stalls get a flashy paint job which is much nicer than bare concrete.
DSCN0038.jpeg

Finally Hivers to end here is the wall of a shop that has been treated to an amusing paint job. They might not find it so funny in down town LA though.

Very cool selection of painted electric boxes, much better with colors and art. And I really like the "metal" sculpture. Thanks for sharing these pics on The StreetArt Community.

Have a great day
