到處都是史努比 / You can see Snoopy everywhere

史努比 (Snoopy) 可能是許多人從小就熟悉的角色，牠不是一般印象中活潑吵鬧的卡通狗，而是一隻帶著安靜氣質、充滿想像力的小狗，我應該是從漫畫書上認識牠的，牠不像其他漫畫角色總是忙著煩惱學業、人際關係或未來，而是享受生活中的各種樂趣，雖然牠不是漫畫的主角，牠的主人查理布朗應該才是主角，但是牠比查理布朗還受歡迎。

我之前也寫過幾篇文章，提到我逛到史努比的快閃店，或史努比的相關的展覽，沒想到，前一陣子，又有史努比的相關活動，是官方和PEANUTS漫畫合作，在信義區周邊，有著不少大型裝置藝術作品，而百貨商場內，也有期間限定的快閃店，所以我才感覺到，怎麼在這一帶，隨便逛一逛，都會看到史努比，害得我很想打電話給我史努比狂粉的朋友，叫她快點來採購史努比周邊商品，假如她能來的話，一定會樂瘋了。

雖然我並不是史努比的粉絲，不過我也很欣賞史努比所呈現的那種生活態度，牠可以幽默，也可以孤獨，可以幻想自己是英雄，也可以只是靜靜坐著發呆，把簡單的生活過得刺激無比，突然之間，我又想到一部曾經看過的電影，叫做白日夢冒險王 (The Secret Life of Walter Mitty)，他們有一點點共鳴之處，電影中的主角，現實中只是不起眼的上班族，不過，腦中經常突然展開誇張的幻想，而最後，他勇敢去追尋自己的夢想。

Snoopy is probably a character many people have known since childhood. He’s not the kind of cartoon dog people usually imagine as noisy and overly energetic. Instead, he has a calm personality and an incredibly imaginative mind. I think I first got to know him through comic books. Unlike many other comic characters who are always dealing with school pressure, relationships, or worries about the future, Snoopy simply enjoys the little pleasures of life. Even though he isn’t actually the main character of the comic—his owner Charlie Brown is supposed to be the real lead—Snoopy somehow ended up becoming even more popular than Charlie Brown.

I’ve written a few articles before about visiting Snoopy pop-up stores and Snoopy-related exhibitions. Unexpectedly, not long ago there was another Snoopy event again. This time it was an official collaboration with Peanuts, and around the Xinyi District area there were many large outdoor art installations. Inside the department stores, there were also limited-time pop-up shops. That made me feel like no matter where I walked in that area, Snoopy kept appearing everywhere. It honestly made me want to call my friend, who is a huge Snoopy fan, and tell her to come shop for Snoopy merchandise right away. If she had come, she probably would have gone absolutely crazy with excitement.

Even though I’m not exactly a hardcore Snoopy fan myself, I still really appreciate the kind of attitude toward life that Snoopy represents. He can be humorous, but also lonely. He can imagine himself as a hero, or simply sit quietly and daydream. He turns an ordinary life into something unexpectedly exciting. Suddenly, that reminded me of a movie I once watched, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. In some ways, they share a similar spirit. The main character in the movie is just an ordinary office worker in real life, someone who doesn’t stand out much, yet his mind constantly drifts into exaggerated fantasies. In the end, he finds the courage to chase his own dream.
