觀賽街頭籃球 / Watching a street basketball game

您們有看過街頭籃球比賽嗎？對於一般的籃球，我想大部份的人應該是不陌生，首先，在學校的體育課中，就有籃球課，此外，隨著美國職籃在全球的風行，我在接觸到美國職籃後，就慢慢地成為一名球迷，而我是從漫畫及電影的橋段中，才知道街頭籃球的。

街頭籃球跟職籃有什麼不一樣？職業籃球比賽人數每隊為5名球員，球員們對抗激烈，比賽節奏快速，職業籃球的規則嚴謹，兩方有來有往，使用犯規規則來防止過度的行為，賽事像是君子之爭，街頭籃球比的是雙方的技術、體型、身體強度以及態度，幾乎沒有犯規來限制球員的行為，賽事像是一場野蠻叢林中的死鬥，只有最強者能生存，美國職籃也有多位球星是街頭籃球出身的，大多球風剽悍及體能超強，但是他們常一不小心，就犯規了。

當我路過文創園區的巴洛克花園時，發現原本充滿濃濃古典氣息的地方，傳來一陣陣喧囂的加油聲，大批圍觀的群眾聚在中央場地，原來這裡被改造成籃球場，正在進行街頭籃球的聯盟賽，穿著各式籃球衣的高大球員，正在籃球場上奔馳得分，而周圍的群眾隨著賽事的進行，時不時地發出驚嘆聲，美麗性感的啦啦隊員們，也時不時地出現在場邊，幫球員們打氣。

可能是因為從小受漫畫與電影的影響太深，對街頭籃球的印象總是熱血又刺激，球員個個身手矯健、花招百出，場上充滿激烈的碰撞與挑釁，每一場比賽都像是一場血淋淋的戰鬥，當我親自來到現場觀看一場真正的街頭籃球比賽時，眼前的景象卻出乎我意料地「溫和」，球場上沒有太多華麗的運球，也鮮少見到灌籃或令人驚呼的高難度動作。球員們之間的對抗是有的，但更像是一種默契的碰觸，而非血脈賁張的衝撞，或許，這就是真正的街頭籃球。

Have you ever watched a street basketball game in person? Most people are probably quite familiar with regular basketball. After all, we’ve all had basketball classes during PE at school. And thanks to the global popularity of the NBA, I slowly became a fan after watching a few games myself. But it was actually through manga and movies that I first learned about street basketball.

So what’s the difference between street ball and professional basketball? In the NBA, each team has five players on the court, and the competition is intense and fast-paced. There are strict rules, and fouls are called to prevent excessive physical contact. It’s more like a “gentleman’s battle”, where both sides follow the rules and compete with discipline.

But street basketball is a different story. It’s more about raw skills, physical strength, and attitude. There are barely any fouls, and players are pretty much free to push the limits. It’s like a fight for survival in the wild and only the toughest survive. Interestingly, many NBA stars started out on the street courts, and while their playing style is aggressive and athletic, they sometimes get into foul trouble in the pro leagues because of that.

One day, while walking past the Baroque Garden at a cultural and creative park, I was surprised to hear loud cheers coming from what’s usually a peaceful, classical setting. A huge crowd had gathered around a court that had been set up right in the middle of the garden. Turns out, a street basketball league game was happening. Tall players in all kinds of basketball jerseys were running and scoring on the court, while the crowd reacted with cheers and gasps at every move. Cheerleaders in eye-catching outfits popped up from time to time, hyping up the energy even more.

Maybe it’s because I grew up watching those dramatic scenes in manga and movies that I had such a fierce image of street basketball—flashy dribbles, brutal collisions, constant trash talk, and fights almost breaking out. But when I actually saw a game in real life, it was way more toned down than I expected. There weren’t many fancy tricks or high-flying dunks. The physical contact was there, but it felt more like a mutual understanding than a violent clash, and maybe... that’s what real street basketball is like.
