At the second floor of Taipei's Uni-UStyle Mall, there are always limited-time events going on—pop-up shops, themed displays, you name it. It's also one of the best spots in the city to get a perfect shot of Taipei 101, which is probably why so many tourists make a point to stop here for photos. I often see Muslim girls wearing headscarves posing and snapping photos with their friends, enjoying their time together. And honestly, I get it; this spot really is super photogenic.

Most of the time, I just walk briskly through this area. But whenever there’s an event, I’ll head up to the “Dream Plaza” on the second floor to check it out. Lately, it was pretty obvious something fun was happening—there was a giant inflatable figure visible from below. So I picked a quieter afternoon and went up to see what it was all about. Sure enough, the moment I climbed the stairs, I saw a 5-meter-tall LEGO inflatable surrounded by kids running and jumping around, totally thrilled.

Next to the inflatable, there were LEGO-built picnic props—complete with a basket, chocolate cookies, strawberry snacks, and a giant teacup. Parents were lining up to take photos of their kids in front of the colorful setup. There was also an interactive LEGO experience zone, where a hidden speaker inside an apple tree played music, surprising and delighting the little ones.

The most exciting part, though, was inside a mysterious yellow structure—the challenge zone. There were three stations: “Stress-Free Forest Life,” “Spinning Yoyo Fun,” and “Co-Create a Great Forest.” Kids who completed all the challenges received a free LEGO® classic 2×4 brick pack. Judging by the long line, I figured I’d leave the fun to the kids this time.

I remember there was also a LEGO pop-up event here last year. The entire second floor turned into a colorful LEGO wonderland. It wasn’t just kids who were mesmerized; even the adults were stopping to stare. This year’s event is just as impressive, equally vibrant and full of playful charm. I couldn’t help but stick around a little longer, soaking in the childlike joy all around.
