I Finally Completed My WIP Project! πŸ₯³ (Work In Progress Challenge).

avatar

Hello needleworkers! 🀩 Hope you're doing great?

I'm here to share with you all my wip project completion πŸ’ƒ... But before that, remember last week Monday, I made an introduction post to my wip project which I started two Saturdays ago. I mentioned I was crocheting a simple tote bag and I posted a picture of my current progress. Well, after making that post, I didn't stop crocheting that day. In fact, I continued until my yarns exhausted.

And afterwards, I didn't crochet for two days (Tuesday and Wednesday), this was because I didn't have any more yarns left and I couldn't go to the market to buy more. Interestingly, during those two days, I missed crocheting so much πŸ₯Ί that my day felt incomplete without it.

But guess what? My mom surprised me on Thursday and got me some yarns! πŸ₯° I was so glad and immediately continued my project after tying the new (doubled) yarns unto the left over piece.

At last, I was able to finish making the bag (without the handles) on Friday and on Saturday, I began crocheting the handles. I did a number of 80 crochet chains for the handles which measured 20 inches long. (And yes I decided to just go with red for the handles). Also, I didn't want the handles fat, so I only did 2 double crochet stitches.

Then, I attached the handles to the bag by sewing them on with a needle and a strand of my red yarn. Doing this was quite easy and it didn't take me much time at all. Although, I could only attach one piece of handle that Saturday because I was really occupied with other tasks.

But on Sunday noon, I finished with the last handle, turned the bag inside out and yippee my bag was ready! 🀩 Okay, maybe not yet, it still needed a finishing touch πŸ€”. And in search for buttons, I found an old abandoned suit, took out 2 buttons from it, then sewed them unto my bag.

Finally, after eight days, my project was ready!!! πŸ₯³πŸ’ƒ

I was really pleased with the outcome of my tote bag that I couldn't wait to rock it. And despite not having anyhere to go yesterday evening, I was still bent on flexing my new bag πŸ˜…πŸ€.

So, I quickly put on an outfit, wore my bag and took lots of photos of myself wearing the bag. I just wanted to see how good the bag looked on me and seeing the photos gave me the assurance I needed. And, I thought I'd share a few of the photos with you all πŸ€—;

What do you guys think? Please feel free to share your thoughts 😊

I don't know if I was fast or not, I really don't know how long it normally takes to complete such work. Initially, I thought it would take me weeks but I'm glad I was able to finish this project in a shorter period of time.

Crocheting is indeed an amazing art, it's skillful, productive and relaxing. Honestly, I've had a wonderful time with it and I'd love to expand my skills and knowledge in this art. Perhaps next time, I could do better.

Lastly, I'd like to thank @crosheille for initiating this challenge 😊, it's a push for needleworkers to work towards completing abandoned works. And even though my project isn't an abandoned work, this challenge gave me the opportunity to rediscover my passion and unbury my crocheting skills.

To every needleworker in this community who might still be working on their wip project, I wish you all success and good luck! Don't relent! πŸ’ͺ✨

All images are mine and taken with my cellphone.
THANKS FOR READING! ❀️

This bag was beautiful. I'm glad you finished it in a short time, usually when you're excited to finish a project things get done faster than usual. Good thing you got the threads and you were able to continue it, this color is great ❀️. Nice WIP completed! Congrats :)

This is beautiful and the colour looks so nice, you've done a great job @dimmablogs. It really doesn't matter how long it took you to finish a project, it depends on what the outcome is, sometimes you hurriedly finish a project and found out the outcome is a mess and nothing to be proud of, but for you, it was finished on time and looks great as well.

Nice bag, keep up the good work.
