Elegance in Casa Donata - Monomad Challenge.

Ever since I developed a passion for photography, I have always devoted myself to street photography. I didn't have to choose anything; it all happened very spontaneously. I started with my phone and wanted better and better photos, so I went from one camera to another. After some time, I became interested in portraits, but in an educational way. I just wanted to have a comprehensive, general knowledge of the different types of photography, including macro photography, which I still have pending.

Today, portraits are still part of my work, although only occasionally. I was particularly drawn to the boudoir style, artistic nudes, but today I want to share something different with you. I think this was one of the first sessions I did, inviting models without letting them know that I was a complete beginner 😄. I even discarded many photos from this session due to some insecurities I had at the time.

Today, after having worked on many productions and gained more experience in this field, I can see what I did years ago here at Casa Donata with Camila in a different light.

This was the beginning of the session, I remember. We wanted to start with something elegant, taking the aesthetics of the location as a reference. I also think that choosing Camila for this session was the best option because of the versatility of her work.

As I write this, I realize that I have only worked in this location once, and that was during this session. A year later, she and I worked together again, and everything was different: a different style, more confidence, a different location, and better feedback on set.

For these photos, I decided to apply a much warmer black and white, less contrast, and soft sepia tones. I wanted to share something different in terms of editing and give it a particular atmosphere. I liked the result much more than I expected, and I hope you liked this series too :)

Have a great weekend.

The photo with the mirror hit me the most. It introduces a bit of abstraction and the reflection in the mirror gives the impression that the woman is holding a piece of the wall in her hands.
