Architecture | Towers and Domes of Buenos Aires.

Towers and Domes of Buenos Aires.

How much beauty can you get in just one block? This post is dedicated to appreciate the beautiful architecture in the area known as Diagonal Norte in the neighborhood of San Nicolas. A place that is characterized by having a large number of historic buildings with an exquisite style and design where some of these buildings have up to much more than a century and are still standing, have an excellent state of preservation and are very popular for residents and tourists.

But I am not going to show you complete buildings, nor am I going to talk in a technical way about some design data, dates or architects. I will let you admire the beauty from your own vision.

The Tower of the Municipal Palace is in my opinion the most beautiful in the city. I remember that once during a guided tour they explained to me that these clads in the form of scales was for the snow containing there and not going down. Well, in Buenos Aires there is no snow but this was the European design of these buildings.

I totally do this building but in terms of photography I loved how the blow of light came just to the tower while the rest remained in shadows. It's brilliant!

This is an angle that I have always loved. You can appreciate many details and it is a captivating perspective. This is the dome of the Benchich building.

Here are two different angles of the former Bank of Boston. I am fascinated by the forms of these windows and all the reliefs that you can appreciate.

A photo in the foreground of the Siemens building where the Magistracy of the Nation is. Very famous for these two statues that seem to be playing the bell over the huge click.

The upper part of a cathedral at the entrance of the San Telmo neighborhood.

That's all folks! Thanks for stopping by and appreciating.

It's great that these buildings have been cared for and maintained over the years, although it's also true that many were destroyed before laws were passed to protect them, and even with those laws in place, many people are investing money to tear them down and build towers or offices.
