Symbiotic Mutualism 📷 Monomad Challenge
This morning, I witnessed a symbiotic mutualism in the rice fields on the border of the city. Farmers were about to enter the planting season, and tractors were starting to plow the land.
I witnessed a beautiful moment: dozens of white storks remained motionless, following the land as the farmers began to plow. Frogs, poisonous snails, moles, and even worms sourced from the plowed soil became the storks' feast.
Storks (or egrets) are natural predators of pests like insects and worms that live in rice fields. When farmers plow, these pests emerge from the soil and become easy prey for these birds.
No one was harmed; the farmers were left with pest-free land after the plowing, while the storks could relax all day after their fill of the planting season.
I tried to capture some images and make them as entries in this Monomad Challenge. Hopefully these images will get support from friends in the Black and White community.
In this Monomad Challenge contest, I want to invite my friends to see some of Black and White photos caught by my camera; "Symbiotic Mutualism", the pictures presented to my friends in Black and white Community 😉
