Culinary entrepreneurs have a big responsibility to manage plastic waste produced from consumers' leftover food packaging. Especially in this era of plastic; leftover customer packaging will become a serious problem if it is not addressed early on.

At Sate Sagobi, I made a special warehouse for customers' leftover plastic packaging waste. We use leftover plastic packaging waste for recycling. We sell it to plastic waste collectors in our city. And I use the results as bonuses for my employees.

I actually did this small thing to raise awareness among employees not to litter and to sort plastic waste with a solution that can be sold in plastic waste containers.

The results are quite good if converted into rupiah. On average, our customers produce 17 to 22 kg of plastic waste every month. Not to mention the remaining beverage cans and cardboard used for beverage packaging. On average, this waste produces IDR 1.5 million rupiah per 3 months. And of course the value is very profitable for my employees by just collecting plastic waste they can make money. I captured a number of pictures using my smartphone camera and used them as entries for this monomad challenge.

In this Monomad Challenge contest, I want to invite my friends to see some of Black and White photos caught by my camera; "by just collecting plastic waste they can make money.", Enjoy all the pictures presented to my friends in Black and white Community ๐Ÿ˜‰

Interesting that this concept has led to be something profitable for many. To not only clean up the endless pollution, but earn a fundamental part of their salary that can contribute to the improvement of their lifestyles.

Thank you for coming and appreciated it @namiks โœŒ๐Ÿ˜

Many entrepreneurs without realizing it have created something that is very dangerous for our earth; plastic waste! Without thinking about the solution so that it doesn't become sustainable pollution.

Oh I'm sure they're fully aware of the consequences, it's just they make stupid amounts of money and nobody is going to stop that. Instead blame is placed on consumers when they have no alternatives. Hence the recycling argument rather than lobbying for better practices like not using plastic for mass production when it isn't necessary.

I agree with your opinion! @namiks I think recycling is a solution, rather than refusing the use of plastic amidst the increasing use of plastic packaging.

For example, in my city, 15 years ago we still used banana leaves as take away packaging, but now styrofoam has replaced banana leaf packaging, fewer people are growing bananas so the price of banana leaves is getting more expensive, people and traders are switching to more economical solutions; use plastic packaging finally!๐Ÿ˜…
