At the Keureuto River πŸ“· Monomad Challenge

Aceh's natural beauty is endless when it comes to exploring. Besides its beautiful beaches, the verdant mountains are also a draw. On one occasion, I visited one of the rivers in the interior of Aceh. The Keureto River is one of the rivers that provides water for the North Aceh region of Aceh province.

The Keureto River also serves as a water source for farmers in the area. During the rainy season, the river can overflow, causing annual flooding. The government is currently building the Keureto Dam, intended to mitigate flooding caused by the overflowing river. However, it is still under construction and is expected to become a tourist destination in the future.

The Keureto River is transforming from an annual flood threat into a multifunctional asset that offers significant benefits to North Aceh: it serves as a flood control, irrigation water source, and energy potential. This area will become a valuable asset in the future of Aceh province.

I tried to capture some images and make them as entries in this Monomad Challenge. Hopefully these images will get support from friends in the Black and White community.

In this Monomad Challenge contest, I want to invite my friends to see some of Black and White photos caught by my camera; "At the Keureuto River", the pictures presented to my friends in Black and white Community πŸ˜‰

Indeed so beautiful place to visit @jhonkiller, 30 years ago, this area was still the headquarters of the Free Aceh Movement (GAM) during the war with the Republic of Indonesia. Due to its dense forest, it was a particularly tense area during the martial law era.

However, after the peace process between GAM and the Republic of Indonesia in 2005, this area transformed into a busy sub-district town center, attracting quite a lot of tourists now πŸ˜„
